![]() ![]() Posted Wed Dec 5, 2012 2:04PM | ^ Doesn't have to be you... If, say, I liked your image and I linked/embedded/tweeted/FB it etc. Then I generated automatic hits to your page that aren't actually people looking at your close-up page but various automated pings/content verification/retrieval. Those used to be counted as views, but not anymore, which is a relief. A blow to the ego right now, perhaps, but it's a better tool now. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Dec 6, 2012 2:10AM | If anyone said publicly that they liked one of my images I'd have them hung, drawn and quartered. I appreciate your point, but reserve my position on how much that affects 'views'. After all, if someone clicks from twitshop to my image page, that's a public airing for my image. Which is a 'view' in my book. |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Dec 6, 2012 6:00AM | Posted By Whiteway: Posted By nkbimages: Oldladybird stated in another thread that views were working correctly. That would require a complete re-definition of 'correctly' – a definition that we, as contributors, would need to be told about. If my current daily views of around 40 are correct, then what were the previous recorded daily views of around 800? Artificially inflated and completely irrelevant? Good point -- I recall reporting after one of the fixes recently about views on certain files dropping by a couple hundred overnight (and for awhile before that, there was the issue of views going up (way up) before they were even accepted, and always by the same or an increment of the same number). They really haven't seemed right for a long time. |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Dec 6, 2012 6:09AM | Maybe the views before were counted everytime the image showed up in your search, and now only when somebody enters the close up page? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Dec 6, 2012 9:04AM | The views counted each time an image close up page was opened, logged out and logged in (unless the image was yours), showing in the search didn't count for me. Though, what NicolasMcComber said makes sense maybe it's -one- of the reasons. (Edited on 2012-12-06 09:05:29 by PaCondryx) |

![]() ![]() Posted Fri Dec 7, 2012 2:14PM | Maybe I've had my head in the sand here...I don't follow any of the forums or discussions....but when did my work get sent to Getty's? I just discovered I have a portfolio on there and they are selling 600 of my files. My question....when did this happen? also the pricing on their site is much higher so my next question...what is my royalty rate for the files sold on Getty's? and is it tracked separately? I am puzzled today to find out I work for Getty's as well (however a nice surprise). Where do I keep in the loop about the politics going on here? Excuse my ignorance! |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Fri Dec 7, 2012 2:32PM | Hi .... early in 2012 it was announced that E+ files would be mirrored on Getty Images site. That has started to occur in the last couple of months ... and it seems a lot of files have been mirrored there in the last few weeks. I assume it is your E+ files you can see on GI. Royalty rate is 20% and you will see those sales come in once a month on your istock account and charts. Hope this helps. |

Debra, all the big news comes in your contributor newsletter as well as the forums. It looks like you are opted in so maybe check your junk mail? Or maybe you have registered using an email you don't check that much? |
![]() ![]() Posted Sat Dec 8, 2012 8:17AM | Oldladybird...thank you kindly for the reply. I have NEVER received a contributor newsletter in my email or junk mail since I've been here! Any suggestions on how to receive same? |
