How do you know what sold over at Getty in the month of November ?

I never count getty and pp sales to see how well I'm doing... those are my mini-bonuses, 'cos they are peanuts.

November was my best month this year but just barely over March. I didn't compare it to previous years. The sales were much appreciated.

Wait a minute, are you saying this thread isn't science??

It's the closest thing we've got Lobo. Since iStock doesn't share any kind of aggregate numbers about sales, revenue, site traffic, buyer trends, or any other useful or helpful monthly data, we're left to try and cobble together a general picture of how things are going for the site as a whole using this thread. Between this and the Alexa Graph, this is the only way you've given artists to understand our own financial performance relative to the rest of the industry. It bothers me that it's not scientific too, but it's all that our Fearless Leaders behind the frosted glass doors in CalgaryWashington have allowed us to have.

Why are we all busting are butts when the systems is not working?  I'm uploading nobody can find it. Fix the thing already.

Poor month... WMTY, in fact worst for 18 months.


Compared to:


              Oct 2012    Nov 2011
DLs             -6%          -44%
$$s             -15%        -21%


As with most others reporting, everything has taken a turn for the worse since the September update, presumably as a result of the BM changes.


Amongst all the red figures, I'm trying to hang on to the only positive one remaining, which is that my year-on-year royalties over a 12 month period (Dec 2011 - Nov 2012 compared to Dec 2010 - Nov 2011) is still +20%;  but that's not going to last unless iStock HQ actually get their collective fingers out and fix things.

Sold my first non-moving stock image, ever, since I only just got approved as a photo contributor. Probably won't do a lot of them or have the spectacular still image portfolios that many of you have, but nevertheless... Yay!

Nobody is uploading I guess, files get inspected in matter of hours these days. In my opinion, majority of people are disheartened by November results...

I'm uploading files which are, as craftvision says, being inspected within hours - the strange thing is that the 'stats' queue shows 80,000+ images waiting.

That's because inspectors are on the special mission to downsize all queues before Christmas.

Hi to you all, sorry to hear you've had a bad month. I've just got started with some Audio on here and I am hoping to become exclusive and work hard at it. Just out of interest, do any of you rely on this as your only income?
