Old tin cans with trademarks

I just took a series of shots at an old backwoods country store. In the shots there are a lot of old medicine cans, cigar tins, and pad locks, all with names on them, or trademarks. These are all very old and companies listed on them have been out of business for over 50 years. Do these have to be submitted into editorial stock, or is there a statute of limitations on trademarks which allows for their use in regular stock? Any help would be much appreciated. in previous posts, the point was made that you can seldom be certain which current companies own legacy IPR for apparently defunct companies. certainly, the inspector will not know, so you can expect rejections...
