Hello,
Good news! We found a problem that has been contributing to the poor results for multiple keyword searches, and the fix will be coming out this afternoon. Please check it out and let us know what you think.
Optimistically,
Search Fairy
Thanks for the update |
Posted Mon Feb 4 3:07PM | yes Kelvin, VERY GOOD... It is super-relevant.
Will there be any newsletter for our clients?
Maybe something like that:
"Hi there! We have greatly improved our search engine. Please come to us and try it! Here you have your code for 30% discount!"

Previously, searching for - London. You would see relevant results.
If you searched - London night. The results stayed ok.
But searching - London night river. Would show a completely different set of results, mostly with zero sales.
Now, that search shows similar results to the one and two keyword searches.
So, looking good so far :)
when I type in london river night I get zero results.
^ in that order

Posted Mon Feb 4 3:11PM | Thanks Mary for the update.
Are you working also regarding all the 2003-2007 stuff pushed in front of BM after 14th Dec 2012. That caused for many of us a cut of 35% in sales !
ETA : i'd like to have a reply, because on 14 dec something has changed radically and my earnings are totally falled down.

Yes, BM for multiple keywords looks by far better! Hopefully we are on the right way now...!
|
Posted Mon Feb 4 3:12PM | That's possibly because it's recognising London river as a term itself, for which there are no matches. |
Posted Mon Feb 4 3:16PM | Not sure if it is a multiple keyword but a search for "cruise ship" yesterday yielded about 10% with actual dowloads in the first 100 or so. Today there are many with large amounts of downloads and some with no dls mixed in. |
Posted Mon Feb 4 3:30PM | Thanks! I'm seeing a huge improvement. So much easier to find relevant content now - the more keywords I add, the more targetted my search becomes, instead of the previous situation where adding keywords made the results less relevant! |

/Wow, multiple keywording really looks better now. I typed in "asia, beach"...yesterday the ranking was full of 0 dl images on top, but right now it seems to make sense.Still some newer 0 Dl images on top page...but why not?
I hope that newer images get a boost again when they sell, and don't disappear in nirvana after an initial download as they did the last weeks/months.
Thanks a lot to Search Fairy and her team!

Looks much better Mary - very much appreciated!! |
Posted Mon Feb 4 4:30PM | Sorry! It is still not working correctly. For file type "photos" search for "one young man only". This term is selectable from the drop down list and should be treated as a single word keyword. It clearly isn't and has all the old features of page after page of zero download files interspersed with >10, >100 etc files. Nothing in the 2-9 download range until around the 500th position. Something fundamental is being overlooked. (or ignored)

I can't believe it!
Now, just balance the weight of number of downloads vs upload date to resurrect 2010-2012 files and it is!
|
Posted Mon Feb 4 5:00PM | Search "Car + New (condition) + People" 100% better. Good work! |
Posted Mon Feb 4 5:17PM | Wow! Looking much better! Thanks Search Fairy! |

Looks much better for multiple keyword searches. I am still worried about new files that are not represented well enough or after initial BM bump, they are pushed to at least third or 4th page (200 images/page). Other concern is the E+ files are not adequately represented in first few pages of searches.

My search for Beach + Copyspace that has been producing zero download results now produces a more logical BM result. This is a big improvement.
Many thanks to searchfairy and her team for making progress with the search and BM.

Posted Tue Feb 5 12:22AM | I just can't believe it has took so long to find the problem.Months !!! |
Posted Tue Feb 5 1:08AM | Yes, BM improved. But it needs more balancing. There are still too much old files on first pages. And new stuff is pushed far back.
