PHOTO: Tangerine. lighting problem

Hello,


I need an opinion about my photo Tangerine Photo I got the following rejection reason.


We found the overall composition of this file's lighting could be improved. Some of the technical aspects that can all limit the usefulness of a file are:

-Flat/dull colors
-Direct on-camera flash and/or flash fall-off (bright subject, dark background)
-Harsh lighting with blown-out highlights that lack details and/or distracting shadows
- Distracting lens flares
-Incorrect white balance

Flat dull colours and underexposed.

you have very even light here. There are no highlight and no shadows. That's why you've got the flat colors rejection. 


i would reccomend to dimm you fill light a bit (the light you've actually used to lighten the scene) and add a second light from the side, This would bring some highlights and shadows into the scene.

Would be easier to reply if the EXIF data was there.


Flat lighting that does not define shape, not sharp, too shallow depth of field as for the subject IMO(the leaf is out of focus for example- it can limit usability of the file I think), lot of white space(I think buyers don't like to by white space- they can easily create one.


By the way you put the watermark on white space(???) cutting the foto in half cuts off the watermark and creates nice vertical composition!!!
