Posted Tue Dec 11, 2012 10:20AM | I had 2,907 files on Getty for many months in a row. Last week the number went to 3,041 and now for several days its 2,437. Can anyone tell me what is going on? |
Posted Tue Dec 11, 2012 11:28AM | Don't seem to have had any new clips transfered over to the Getty Images site since June. On the other hand, I noticed the other day that the front page promotes iStockFootage as the main source of video on the site. Which is really cool, IMO. |

Good to know they are having promotion. I wish I had my newer clips transferred. I have nothing over there since Dec 2010. |

Yeah, something is happening. My friend told me yesterday that he noticed he only had 10 video at Getty yet he got over 100 videos there and he was able to see them until yesterday.
I can see my whole portfolio there... All the clips that are transfered that is.
So, something is ackward...

27 files at gettyimages / 993 at istock
i used to have (almost) all of my files transfered from IS to GI. no wonder i have 1-3 sales a month at GI.

Posted Thu Dec 13, 2012 3:02AM | Very similar situation for me.
Only 42 files now showing where I used to have basically all my work mirrored the last time I checked.

Vcr, I wouldn't mind either to have my latest files on Getty
It's been a while since I got some videos transferred there.

I would like to know why I only have 2 videos on Getty and not any of the others. I have one Vetta video and one regular video. No others.
It seems odd that the Vetta was from 2010'ish and the other regular collection video was from June of this year. No other videos from that huge time period have went over. I was under the impression that most all Exclusive videos went over.

I'd like clarification on this too please! I had my first video files transferred August this year about a 3rd of my port at that time. I havent had any ported over since, including my latest vetta files that I thought would be ported over ASAP?
Any news on when and what files will be ported?

There are a couple of questions going on here. Firstly, the OP was about a bunch of files that seem to have disappeared from the GI collection. This we are looking at right now. If you have noticed this yourself, please contact me directly at my email address or through site mail.
The other question is that your files have still not shown up on the GI site after a long wait time. This is a logistical challenge we are working on. Files continue to be sent to GI, but there are still many to go. We do this two ways: Through large scale physical transfer of files (they take several months to get into the system at GI) and through an automated system (this sends a mix on brand new files and queued files in a steady stream and includes photos, illustrations and video). Eventually your files will get there.

Posted Thu Dec 13, 2012 10:35AM | Thank-you for the update Jim and looking into this for us! Glad I brought it up as I just thought I was nuts |
Posted Thu Dec 13, 2012 1:06PM | Thanks Jim, Hope to see my newer files there soon. I appreciate your detailed info about the issue. Happy Holidays to you and the team! |
Posted Thu Dec 13, 2012 2:04PM | I have only 89 videos on GI by many many months... some friends have new videos there, or older video too transferred, I haven't neither of them... it's quite odd, and very frustrating!!! |
Posted Fri Dec 14, 2012 10:08AM | When you get any more news Jim can you please post it here? Thanks |

This two way system seems like a truly unfair practice! So some contributors have to wait months (even years, self included) whilst other contributors work are included straight away in a nice steady stream?
I dont like the unjust sound of that!!!!

Maybe it could be useful : I noticed also that only 19 of my files appear in Getty, but I had sales of some files which aren't part of them listed in GI report of Istock. It seems that our user name is not a good keyword for GI search, I found some of my files I didn't found with my user name, but found with for example the keyword "plane".
