My goal for 2012 was to grow my portfolio by 50% and meet the new RC level. I only grew my portfolio by 15%, once again letting the site problems spook me from uploading. I have several finished shoots just waiting to upload.  I was on target to hit that new RC level, but that got de-railed in September.

Goals for 2012: I think I'm going to continue to build my client-based business more (as I did this year) and add to istock only as time permits. I just can't justify all the effort put into something that is ultimately controlled by one person's turn of the dial.  If things turn around, great, but I'm not counting on it.  I will also investigate dropping the crown and joining other microstock sites, but I'm not exactly looking forward to it.

I am going to focus on building my skills, especially playing with light, not playing it safe so much, finding new and interesting locations, and continuing to market my local business.

Increase my sales (downloads) by at least 20% despite iStock's overall website performance.

I just uploaded my first 18 images for approval. I want to continue adding 18 images week until I have my whole port uploaded here. But I am first testing the waters to see if its worth the hassle. The December sales thread is not very uplifting.

Considering my trends my resolutions for 2013 are:

- reduce investing into istock photography by 90%

- greatly improve my photography

- research RM sites and start uploading RM

2012:

Build my house with a proper photo studio (almost ready!!)

2013:

Enjoy and take full advantage of my new studio

Focus my energies to what I can shoot without spending too much (no agency models just yet)

Try out some of Yuri Arcurs' tips and techniques :)

Work my painting muscles through making concept illustrations for Istock (raster, not vector)

Learn a new 3d software (for 3d images)

More travel photography

More personal artsy photography

Not a resolution but a hope: That Istock continues to provide enough for my family and reclaims its former glory.

1- go on laziness

2- a little bit working

3- smoking, listening music and again laziness

That’s my 2013 way
