Officially discontinued. If you're pondering a step up to full frame cameras, why no go for the one that started the revolution. Act quick, the ones left on the shelves will go in a flash.

I loved mine.  When it came out, it was like Canon had designed the camera just for iStock Shooters. FF and just enough pixels for XXXL.  Not cheap, but not outrageous either.


Sold mine and upgraded to the 5D3, which s great, but somehow like replacing an old friend with a new one...

Still got one as a back up and still use it a lot for weddings. It can produce great quality images and is a bargain now if you are looking to go full frame.

The original 5D was ground breaking. By the time 5DmkII came out, Nikon already caught up with its own full frame model. However, it is a great camera and lots of people are going to get awesome deal at half the price.

My heavily used 5DII sold for $2100 a few days after the 5D3 was announced.  I hear they are going for $1100 now, so i guess i did well.  But I paid retail for my 5D# as well so... anyway.
