There are a few hours remaining of this final day of the year, but this thread will serve as the single place for everyone wishing to post regarding their sales stats for December and also for all of 2012. In this way, we hope to make it easier for everyone to write and read such posts and hopefully reduce the duplication of effort caused by having separate threads.
Good luck to all of those striving to reach a higher RC level as the clock counts down.
Wishing a very happy 2013 to you all.

December is/was down 50 % from last year along with the last 4 months.
Even though I double my portfolio this year.

WMY. More at end of day/month/year.
ETA: Apparently, there will be little or no change in the numbers for the rest of the year. So, as I said, WMOTY. Also, the first time ever that I will make less than the corresponding month in the previous year.
12/12 > 12/11 dls -55% 12/12 > 11/12 dls -42%
12/12 > 12/11 $$ -16% 12/12 > 11/12 $$ -36%
2012 > 2011 dls -9%
2012 > 2011 $$ + 48%
In a telling statistic, the increase in dollar percentage from 2011 to 2012 was achieved completely in the first 8 months of the year. From September until December, 2012, dls dropped a whopping 42% from the previous year and $$ stayed the same. From being well on track at the end of August to making the next royalty level, I missed by a few percentage points.

Very very bad worse month in years. So bad I could not cash out this week! Hopefully the new year will bring less tears.

WMY but not the end of the world

2012 was just slightly better than 2011 for me.
I'm quite pessimistic about the future of the whole microstock industry. Millions of new photos and illustrations added each year means a smaller and smaller piece of the cake for each contributor. Eventually it has to come to a point when it's just not worth the effort any longer, unless you are extremely productive and talented, which I'm not. So 2013 may be the year when I have to get a normal job or go back to university.

Worst month since I've had any significant number of images here. 16 days in December with 0 downloads. Downloads down 58% from last December, income down 48%. Downloads are down 70% from 2010 and income down 75%. Income and downloads are on par with the year I spent uploading almost exclusively RM editorial at a competitor site.

Horrid, I am so glad I had other jobs to buffer the loss I sustained here in Dec. !! Hoping for a better start to 2013 and hope iStock starts selling videos again On the year I was up 10% from last year so I was pleased with that trend and hope I can grow 20% in 2013!

The 2011-2012 year was my first year at ISI take this opportunity to say I'm pretty happy with my sales and IS team in general. Although there are small things that do not work (without the quote), but I'm sure IS will resolve these concerns during the year 2013.
My sales in 2012 were not bad with such a small portfolio and for the first year, I intend to get involved here continued to grow my RC and maybe one day become Exclusive ...
Meanwhile Happy New Year to all!

Look to be down 25% in $$ from last year

Worst year every since 2006, down over 50% in # of downloads from last year - very sad.

Worst month of the year and worst December ever.
Compared to November 2012 (BME) $ -60% DL -42% .
Compared to December 2011 $-40% DL -49%
Overall 2012 earnings down by 10% compared to last year when adjusted to take into account the higher percentage that I received for 2012.

Absolute carnage, my sales have been eviscerated, scary. $ down 40% over last year. 2012 $ slightly up over 2011 with about 25% portfolio growth. All was OK until September when HQ pulled out the knives! Early 2013 will be the time to make the big exclusivity decision!

Second worst month of 2013. Even though I had low expectations, December managed to disappoint me like every month since Semptember.
The end of 2012 has taugh me one thing. I'll spend much time and effort to prepare plan B in 2013.
Happy new year.

Its eating into the bone....falling over the cliff, fiscal cliff. Is it fair to expect some kind of compensation from Istock in 2013?
Posted Mon Dec 31, 2012 9:46AM
another train wreck of a month - worst month for the last 2 1/2 years
I never pulled out of the summer slump, but at least the $$s for the year are just about the same as in 2011

Worst month of the year - it is usually my best. Downloads down 80% from last December (over 500DLs last December, just over 100 this year), $$$ down over 30%. I have lost thousands of dollars since September's mess, and will lose thousands more next year due to missing RC targets for a raise next year.
I have 3 different shoots edited and ready to upload, but I don't dare introduce them at this unstable time, so they are just sitting there as they have been for months.

December was pretty bleak. Continued frustration with the time frame involved in getting videos reviwed. I am uploading the same content to other sites, and in days and earning $, while content sits here and waits... I also contribute to Getty and that had been on par with 2011 until it dropped off dramatically in November. I won't have the Getty results for Dec until later in January, but given the same kind of mixed-up search results going on over there I'm not expecting a good Dec.
I do think the economy is a part of the equasion that is being overlooked. I know there are other annoying factors in play, but my assignment work is down as well, and that has nothing to do with BM and cross migration of content. Sure hope things world-wide can turn the corner and business will improve for all.

December was worst month in 3 years for me. Looking at the whole year - until August I was sure to easily make my BYE by far, then iStock decided that was it. Now I am slightly below last year.
