VECTOR: lack of visual impact

I've recently been accepted as an Illustrator and all three sample files were approved:











 


However my next two files were both rejected as "We're sorry, but we found the overall composition of this file lacking visual impact and therefore not suitable as stock."

I thought the style was similar to my initial submissions but I've obviously missed the mark but not sure how. I'd be grateful for any comments that can help me avoid heaping up the rejections.
