They aren't even bothering with the feeding us manure at the moment |

I shall not hold my breath waiting for any communication today, my bet is a feeble toe in the water from an admin on Wednesday and nothing from RR until the summer.
First part of my bet has come in, from oldladybird
Discussions are ongoing with Google. Once we have an update we can provide that both parties have agreed on, we will post here.
The lack of update is not an indication that the subject is closed.
2nd part of the bet , I feel confident, no word from RR until she will drops in to say ' she is moving on to take on a new challenge'

Posted Thu Jan 24 5:58AM | Dear iStock! The new way of communication - what is it? This thread http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=350685&page=1 ask an important question. But it has been moved from the active general section to abandoned exclusive section of this forum, and still have no ansver. It is not just my question, a lot of peoples found it and agree with it. Are You will keep silence? Should we accept it like the ansver - "you not more interesting for iStock"? |

I think you might loose this part as well - why would RR share with you/us her move to the next job? |
Posted Thu Jan 24 9:52AM | I won the first part:- toe in the water from an admin on Wednesday, but you might be right with her communication on departure. |
Posted Thu Jan 24 10:19AM | I'm beginning to read the 'Changes in the way we communicate' as 'we're scared Getty may sack us if caught talking to the workers'. Nice to see forward thinking innovative companies not stuck in the dark ages. |

Whew. I was meaning to take advantage of this ridiculous post all day. But before I do I'll also this stupid post first below:

You all want communication but you shoot just about every one we have come in here. I don't reckon you only want to see me in here all the time as I tend to get testy and take was less guff than the rest of the admins. However, how about all you folks who seem to have all the snappy nasty remarks park your mouse button for a spell. My limit has been reached so either tone it down or get a helmet because I'm going to start raining hammers down on those of you who should know better.
You're mad. You want results. We are working towards making changes in how things are handled in here but it's going to take some effort on the part of the contributors as well. If you don't have something constructive or civil to say you and I will get to know each other real soon.
Matthewleedixon: if you have a chance take a look through the numerous threads we have rolling on an array of pertinent issues. In the morning I'll even link up a bunch of stuff for you, but it's late here and I have 2% battery life so I hope you'll forgive me.
This will be the last post. You won't gt a chance to respond in here. Feel free to send me a sitemail if you want to tell me what's what.

Posted Fri Jan 25 1:40AM | So it's probably abundantly clear that I too suffer from frustration in here. Im not perfect. Rather than delete the post I'm going to leave it up as a testament to how batshit crazy I'm becoming from reading some of the comments in here. I'm not proud of the post nor do I think it's appropriate. Apologies to all I quoted and the general threats of hellfire and hammers. It's getting crazy in here.
I'm going to take a little break. I'll be back in a few. |
Posted Fri Jan 25 1:47AM | My sympathies. I'm glad I don't have to read the stuff. |
 Posted Fri Jan 25 2:12AM | artists@istockphoto.com doesn't answer (15 days already)
Fellow contributors also shared with me that their support tickets don't get answers but get locked without reply instead. |

I'm not sure what your email is about but I reckon it's not about changes in the way we communicate. So please do continue to have patience as your emails are responded to. I think your fellow contributors are able to type for themselves. I welcome them to flood my sitemail inbox with ticket ids so I can clarify why their tickets were locked. Maybe we will uncover a conspiracy! |
Posted Fri Jan 25 3:41AM | Ok, I will continue to wait patiently and will tell the guys to sitemail you. Thanks. |

Hey Lobo,
Went out and did some creative video work yesterday to free my mind from this place for a bit. The problem is while you are trying to get us information on the site we have been asking for information that you already have at your finger tips. How about the details of the deal between Getty/Google? EULA? How many images are slated to go over there? You see Getty knows the answers and since they have refused to give them we are going nuts. Most admins I see post have been thanked even if we strongly disagree. We should all be on the same side but sadly we are not.

I'm pretty good at keeping those comments off the site, jjneff. I think you might have missed most of the more off putting posts because I'm not letting them see the light of day. Do you think the contributor base are the only folks who know how to hit refresh? I'm silly with refresh fever so know I'll typically get there first.

Posted Fri Jan 25 8:43AM | Well I can wait as it is my choice to sell here or not. I am not going to let emotions guide my business mind. Here is to hoping things can turn around and if not I know where the door is. |

I honestly hope more people take this attitude. It could get difficult for the folks ramping up to deactivate files to take a stand only to change their minds and request reactivations. We've already seen contacts from people who have deactivated a chunk of their portfolio who want reactivations. We've closed an account too. One whole account.
Imagine what will occur when the dust settles -and it will settle- after the contributor imposed deadline of Feb2. There are individuals involved in that piece of protest that are currently running folks into a tough spot. Avatars, external forum campaigns and the like typically hurt the individual contributors more than they do Getty or iStock. Don't think we haven't been here before. Have we reached critical mass on all these issues? Maybe. I guess we will see.

Well, I'm not planning on deactivating files as I don't hold iStock responsible for any of this. However, I think your statement needs some clarification for those that are planning on doing so. In all honesty, this sounds like a warning not to deactivate. |

The sad thing is that it seems as though people want the admins to put a chocolate on their pillows and tuck them into bed every night. That's babysitting and certainly not how the business world works.
I've been amazed by all the admin comments appearing in various threads regarding BM, Views, Google, Microsoft, Sliders, etc... Communication has been a 180 degree turnaround from what it was before December and it's sad that others can't appreciate that. While people may not like the answers provided or the length of time that it takes to get things accomplished in the real world, it is abundantly apparent that communication is much improved over what it was.
This was a "PUNK" post to begin with. I'm surprised that is has lasted this long and I don't blame you for your comments on this at all.
