help for keywording

As new contributor I would like some help for keywords


I have files of one bird call "white-throated dipper"


I try to put that name in title, in description, or in keyword, but when I make search in Istock database, my file do not appear.


But another fill from other contributor appear with that name


Can you tell me and help me to better keywordint


What is the most important, title, description or keywords ?

I don't know how you are searching but typing exactly "white-throated dipper" in the search returns five of your photos out of seven files for me.

Title and description will have NO effect on your searches from within iStock. Keywords are king.

so how is possible, from my side only one file, and not mine ?

so, when I enter white-throated dipper in keyword, it's tell me it's not possible

You've entered it in Italian "language" choice. Somehow, the search is finding it, even though I am searching in English.

If I write by myself in search white-throated dipper, I have not

What you are seeing is the difference between white-throated dipper and "white-throated dipper".

But typing in "white throated dipper" (without the hyphen) produces no results, I doubt anyone searching for it would type in the hyphen. IS keywording is a bit of mystery sometimes.

You can always include two versions in your keywords with and without hypen.
