I'm a little confused about the keyword "music", whose use was strongly forbidden if I remeber well, but which seems to be back frequently in recent uploads. Since it seems to me a relevant keyword in terms of visibility, please advise if we are allowed to use it again.

I cannot remember nobody saying that "music" was a problematic kw...maybe it's just a quite generic word, but totally relevant as long as the file contains "music". Surely not relevant for sfx

ETA: I never stopped using "music" as a keyword, and never got any advice/rejection for that...

me too, I thought every music based audio track needed the keyword "audio" and "music" ?

If you search for "music" we can find 36 692 files....Maybe "music" is a useless keyword not only because  every composition in istockaudio( not sfx) is music and we have more than 36 692 files, but also beacuse it can create confusion when a buyer had to choose a track. Search for "music" is like search for everything and it don't help to find what a buyer wants and this can slow down our profit and the istockaudio profit

Bobforma, when You use the only MUSIC keyword for search then yes, You get almost all music files.. But imagine if i search for BUSINESS MUSIC.. or.. MOTIVATIONAL MUSIC.. or any other kind of MUSIC.. If You have only MOTIVATIONAL in your keys, but no MUSIC, Your files won't come up in search results.. If You have both - "whatever the key" and MUSIC, then You are in.. This is all about that

I agree, I think that the term MUSIC can be a filter. The music buyer can use it in searches in order to separate songs from sfx tracks.

Thanks, softpiano, i understand. It can be a good reason to use "music" for keyword.

Yes, you CAN use music. while most buyers likley do not use the keyword, I personally use it all the time.
