All my videos have disappeared off Getty today I think it maybe a bug? I get the impression that many videos are off as there are not many in each search result?
Anybody else finding this?

Hope to hear some answers soon as its an on going problem

Has this happened to you jjneff?
I quickly recieved an email from getty yesterday appologising and saying this has happened to a handful of other contributors. I had 130 files with getty and now they have all disappeared. I had 119 videos under my name as the filmmaker. But had 11 or so with istockphoto as the filmmaker. I thought these istockphoto filmmaker credits would be changed in time but they never did?
I'm worried that I maynot get my royalties from December as on there system I am none existant! What should I do?
Also I'm missing out on royalties from yesterday and onwards! Really not happy!
I've been waiting for ages to get more ported over, some videos have been waiting for over a year. Also none of my vetta files have been ported too! Now with all my videos disappeared I feel it's a complete waist of time
Everything is so over complicated and buggy on both sites (istock and Getty)!!!!!!

Sorry, I have been waiting for weeks for this to be resolved. I have around 600 files missing. They are working on it I hope. Wish I could offer you more info.

I have nearly 2,000 files missing. Also waiting to hear what's happening.
[edit: 2,000 not more than 2,500]

Wow this is a huge problem then! Wonder what went wrong?
Posted Wed Jan 9, 2013 6:44AM
These are not files sitting here and not loaded to Getty yet. These are files that were on Getty and then vanished.
Posted Wed Jan 9, 2013 8:41AM
I had 120-130 videos there, and they dissapeared a month ago...
Now, there are some 10 very old videos that were not there before...
I've sent them an email, and to this day haven't recieved any explanation - very professional.
Considering low sales video trend on istock, i am becoming more dependant on getty sales; but what is going to happen with my (and other contributors) earnings now since i have only a fistfull of videos...?
Posted Wed Jan 9, 2013 11:47AM
I can't believe how unfair the getty migration is! Some contributors have their video files ported over basically straight away, as soon as they are approved by istock (lucky them).
Whereas myself and other contributors have to wait years for our video's to be ported over only then to find that most (all in my case) video's have vanished anyway after a few months. My Vetta video files are treated exactly the same!
This two way system is so unfair! Imagine all of our lost royalties!
This is not what I signed up for!
Can we upload our video's to Getty independantly? Or does it have to be through the most buggy system on the planet AKA istock?

/bloody hell... dont like that at all.
That might explain why i had almost nonexistent sales last month there (maybe my files are gone since october?)
wow, those seem to be online for now!
try out that search:

I will take a stab at addressing this.
Back in April, we launched a projected named The Connector. This is a protocol that was developed to share files and metadata between Getty Images and iStock over a high speed connection. Until November it was only used to transfer photos and illustrations, then in November it added video to the mix. I know it sounds like a simple task to just send files from one location to the other and presto they are live. However, even though iStock and Getty are one and the same as a business, our infrastructure was built entirely separately from one another. We each have different file naming structures, different databases, different accounting systems etc. When a file is transferred, it must be cross-checked and tracked by two separate systems so that both databases stay current. That is what the connector does. Of course there are priorities for how files are moved, such as if it is a newly approved file, or if it has been deactivated.
We have moved a lot of files over this new connector since November, but we recently discovered a bug where a handful of people have had their ports reduced or vanish. In some cases, the cause has been traced and understood. We are still investigating the remaining few cases.
Backing waaaay up..
Before the connector, we sent batches of a few thousands of files at a time to Getty Images. These where initially files that we chose based on exclusivity, sales, strength of portfolios, and the process required (in the first couple of years) separate contracts with GI for these contributors. This was difficult, but over the past few years we still pushed more than 100,000 video files to the iStock collection at GI. The last batch we sent was this past summer, and that batch only recently finished ingesting at GI. Eventually the connector will be able to keep up with the new files we approve, but we still need to send over another batch or two to get through the backlog. Then we need to get to work on the non-exclusive stuff.
The reality is that files are going over far more efficiently and steadily than ever before. No contributors have their entire ports transferred. In fact many will never see their entire ports on GI. This is because we have decided not to transfer any files encoded with HDV, or any SD files through the new connector, even though some of those files do appear there now from the earlier transfers.
We still have some kinks to work out obviously. If you have experienced a bunch of files missing from GI without explanation, please email me with details, such as how many files you had before vs how many you have now etc. This info should help us identify the problem quicker. If I have already communicated with you about this, no need to do it again. If you are simply waiting to have more files transferred, I can answer that now - eventually you will.
Hope this helps a bit.

My account has totally vanished!
I have never had my videos ported through the connector system but through the back log way.
I thought only exclusive videos are put on Getty but in your thread you mentioned non exclusive content are to be ported over after exclusives! Why? That was one of the main reasons I chose to be exclusive?
Why are my Vetta files not given more of a priority which I thought they were supposed too? Some of my Vetta files have been waiting for months.

the connector never worked for me... I have only 89 videos on GI, now on istock I have about 500 files!
and the last one ported is from april... and it is there from the summer... and so... please... tell the connector there is my portfolio too, thanks!

Jim, I am encouraged by your explanation. I have over 500 files waiting and will be eagerly awaiting the transfer.
Thanks for all the work behind the scenes from you and the team of Video and Programmers!

/Heres an idea!!!
Why dont you stop porting over every video file. THEN start porting over using the connector every contributors videos that have disappeared and vanished from the getty account. THEN start uploading every contributors videos using the connector method and abolish the back log method.
The baglog method doesn't make any sence to me as none of my new files use the connector method and I upload videos every week!
This is the most fair way I can see, is it not?

Will videos that I've provided HD, NTSC, and PAL versions under one file number, at inspection, possibly be skipped over because of this? Or will the Connector just take the HD version only?
Here is one of mine as an example:

OK my video's have appeared back at Getty this weekend (think it was yesterday). A few are still missing but the majority have appeared again. Thanks Jim and the video Getty team
It would be so rewarding if my and some other contributor files could use the connector method so we could see our portfolios grow over at Getty. (Instead of random backlog uploads every year+, Its so demoralizing waiting so long for our video's to be ported over onto Getty!)

mines are decreasing instead of increasing... I'm starting to look elsewhere to sell my videos...

Few hundreds of my newer videos are missing from Getty collection!
