If my video files aren't put back on soon then I suppose I don't need to worry about late Royalties.
Every single video of mine has disappeared again I'm really loosing hope! |

Posted Wed Mar 6 1:02AM | no update, problem no fix, what going on, why i still 0 file on getty |
Posted Wed Mar 6 4:15AM | Lost hope on the whole iStockvideo-thing a long time ago. This thing is falling apart from every corner and it seems to be just what Getty wants. Seeing longtime contributors with great portfolios and sales numbers going indie all the time now is the clearest sign. |

According to Jim, "code is being re-written". Simply put, iStock programmer sucks, for years. They are wasting time here .Half year has past without any progress. Maybe another year to complete.. OK, guys, be patient.
Or, they should be fired, or maybre their salary is not good, I donate 1 dollar.

Thanks for representing me so eloquently. Next time I need a spokesperson I know who to ask. |
Posted Mon Mar 11 4:00PM | Any updates Jim? Keeping my fingers crossed that the fix will happen soon. |
Posted Wed Mar 13 11:33PM | Maybe Vcr give up already, i feel like that. |
Posted Thu Mar 14 7:24AM | I'm guessing VCR/Jim is on holiday? He's normally really efficient at replying so I guess when he's back in the office he will update us on the Getty situation? |

Didn't give up, not on holiday, although I am coughing and sneezing crazy today spreading my miserable cold in every direction. And speaking of bugs...
I received an update late yesterday that indicated it could be a couple of more weeks before the problem is resolved. From what I understand, there are two parts to it: 1. the initial problem of files being yanked from the GI collection without warning. We know what is causing the problem, thought we had solved it but that fix did not work. Developers are working on a better solution but it may still be a couple of weeks away from deployment due to other complexities. When it is fixed, that will be part 2, re-setting all the files from a deactivated state to an active state. From what I understand, this is a fairly simple and quick process, however there is no point in doing it until step one is complete, or they will simply disappear again (as was the case for Spencer_Whalen, jjneff and others).

Posted Thu Mar 14 4:20PM | When site is broken and full of bugs customers gets some nice "we are sorry" discounts, but what we contributors get when system is broken? |
     Posted Mon Mar 18 7:14AM |
Ok now it fell down from 1305 to 1265... And several months ago I had over 1800 videos at Getty?!?!? Cmon, fix it!
Videos selling through Getty are a major part of mine and other peoples income... And almost every month they are equal or higher then my sales through Istock...
One of the "safety nets" after canceling my exclusivity was indeed money from Getty sales... And now I'm just affraid that that stream of financial safety will be gone. When all the videos hits zero...
Please some info on this. And a fix.

Posted Wed Mar 20 2:09AM | This is really hard. Since 1 year I get nearly the same money from Getty. Every month. Yesterday I got the February money. It is only 20% from normal.
How could it be otherwise? More than 1000 files are disappeared. Unbelievable. Since more than 2 months Getty/Istock can't fix this bug. |
Posted Thu Mar 21 3:35AM | Any update on this problem? Is it true that 25fps files are affected under this bug? |
   Posted Thu Mar 21 8:52AM |
Ive been told that it's only 25fps clips that have disappeared.
Any updates Jim? This is going on for too long!
Also Getty has 25fps clips by other users (image bank etc), is it only the istock end?
Were loosing too much royalty money, can we start uploading to Getty directly to miss out this bug?

It is true that 25fps (and 29.97fps) files are affected. I have not heard yet about when the fixed code will be released, but I do know that it is a priority to get these back asap. |
Posted Thu Mar 21 11:13PM | So that means I have to wait forever ? maybe 1,2,3 years from now right ? |
