Sean, thanks a lot for your efforts. I agree with everyone who thinks that you should run this business (if you want, of course).

I am afraid to bring some bad news (like we did not have them enough) - it looks like there will be more images since I could not find several images of mine given away to Google, for which I got $6 in November (not $12, like some other people here)

By the way, we still have not seen any offical 'story", have we?

I can not accept having my pictures free anywhere. I would like an official response explaining all our possibilities of having our pictures removed from "Google stock" immediately. I would also like to know how iStock would respond to contributors that should decide to issue a DMCA takedown notice to Google.

Thank you for doing this Sean.

After looking at all images, I am blown away by the quality and breadth of this free collection. With these actions, I believe that Getty has shot not only themselves but the industry in the foot. Unless of course, there's an ulterior motive.

The deliberate stripping of copyright attribution is likely a key legal point. None of my images are in the collection, but I am pulling for all whose are.

isn't it the task of iStock to monitor and police any illegal use of our images?

Yes but they seem to be going through another jekyll and hyde moment.

First they have to construct some elaborate spin, to explain the 'opportunity for our valuable contributors', then it will need to be worked over, line by line, by their legal advisors. It's going to take time and, other than some soothing platitudes, I wouldn't hold my breath for anything this side of the weekend.

That certainly _was_ supposed to be one of the perks of being iStock Exclusive - since "they knew all of the sales of a given image". I'm beginning to wonder if this also went the way of the Agency/Distributor issue. Can I still trust my business partner?

I know you are in a hurry and we are too.

It is 4:30 NY time, 2:30 in Calgary and 1:30 Seattle time so it is infact still the day we said we would get back to you. We are getting there.

Regarding claims against our customer that they are using images illegally; again they are not and that Getty broke your contract this is false. Again we will come back today.

We do--in fact we are deveolping technology that at some point will likely make this extremely efficient.

There are plenty of complaints about sending examples. To be clear--- no one is required to send examples. If you want to--send them please to CE rather than posting them here so they will be addressed.
