This is Kris from the Ecommerce team. I want to take this opportunity to discuss upcoming changes to the price filter.

First, I want to apologize. We released some partially-finished changes yesterday by accident. It was always my intent to communicate changes with you before they launched, in a spirit of open communication, pre-release feature announcements, and idea sharing.

We are in process of removing the changes until all updates are complete.

Which gets me to my second point - what are we changing! We have completed analysis of the Price Filter and found that customers are using it both to find cheaper content and to find higher quality content. We are shuffling which collections are at which of the 4 price levels so customers can find content at all levels. So, whether customers are searching with a strict budget in mind or are filtering to view higher priced quality content - or somewhere in between - they can now better find and download content.

The collections will be mapped to each of the 4 price levels as follows:





**** = Vetta and Agency collections

*** = Exclusive+ collection

** = Exclusive and Plus collections

* = Value and Main collections


The Value Collection, at the first price level, contains a mix of exclusive content and non-exclusive content. This collection was established years ago, consists of photos and illustrations, and mid last year we added a significant quantity of exclusive content to it. The 3 other price levels consist entirely or almost entirely of exclusive content.

I'll also add that users don't tend to just use the Price Filter and narrow down to one price level, but tend to look at a range of prices.

We are also planning improvements to the design for the upcoming feature release, as well the promotion of the tool on the site and in marketing channels.

I and the team will be closely monitoring the new Price Tool's usage to further improve it over time.

Ultimately, our goal is to make it easier for customers at every budget to find the right files for the right price.

The full release is planned for next week.

In addition, I and other team members are reading through your feedback. As a result, and based on plans we have for this year, we are planning additional feature launches that build upon the ideas you've shared with us, and address Exclusive Contributors' concerns for how we price files and provide tools for filtering by price.

Stay tuned for the release next week, and for additional forum posts in the coming weeks and months about additional enhancements.

We've been actively listening to all of your feedback on how we can improve the Price Filter on our Search Results Page. As a result, we are going to delay the release of the new Price Filter. It's still coming soon, just not this week.

It certainly could help to explain the recent rise in Value Collection (old Dollar Bin) file sales I've been seeing.

as long as it's good for buyers and gives them a search option that helps them find the content they need, at the price they can afford, i'm fine with my stuff getting filtered out at the cheapest setting.
