It looks like everything related to video dead since there,

so I was wondering if somebody is having a good period.

I got some Vetta video approved too, but all seems to sleep too.

/Hi Piola! I'm exactly the same! The first two weeks of December I had really good sales! Was on course for a possible BME. Then around the 14th till the present I have had very little. 30% of what I would normally make in an average month!

It seems everyone is in the same boat! Or please tell us otherwise!

Im concerned about the lack of lightbox activity / Lack of views / Sales seem to be non-existent and the fact that only a tiny % of my portfolio is on Getty after 1 full year of uploading. I thought our videos on Getty could be our savior but for some reason my files either never end up on there or it takes far too long. They also seem to pick my less appealing videos for some reason and they have never ported over any of my Vetta files

So meany things to complain about! It's looking so bleak and gloomy at the moment! Need the spring air and warm sun on my back to feel better, plus the sales to start rolling in!

Not that I'd consider this huge sales, but I've had 7 downloads since 14 December.

Since Dec 14th i had 5 video sales... that and some very old photos and vectors.

First month in i can't remember how long that i couldn't withdraw any $!

And Jan is not showing any signs of improvement.

I know that i have somewhat small portfolio, but almost half of my videos are less than 1 year old, so it's pretty frustrating right now... Especially with all that Getty situation which seems to pulled me out of the gutter in Sept, Oct and Nov. We'll just have to wait 'till 25th to see what happend with that...
I don't know about you guys, but it's getting harder and harder to keep head above the water

Im spending more time reading all the IS forums at the moment than making any footage (I can't really see the point or any ambition to right now). So with everything going on here does anyone have an explination to why video sales are so poor?

I was nieve to think that maybe video is different to stills, so with all the stills problems I thought video should still be OK (as it's so different) HOW WRONG WAS I?

This time last year I had a tiny portfolio. So I can't really compare the two! So whats going on here?

Is it the economy?

Is it BM?

Is it buyers have gone else where all of a sudden over night?

Is it just normal for this time of year (not been uploading for too long)

Is it a bit of all of the above?

What do you fellow video contributors think? and the age old question Will it improve?

I didn't see a big drop after Dec 14th, other than through the holidays. But I've been seeing a fairly steady slow decline for the last 2 years. This January started out really slow, but last week was actually pretty good. It seems like best match right now is favoring older videos with downloads over newer videos. So I seem to be selling videos that haven't sold in years even though I have much better new videos.

I have an 80% decline from past January in Video, Photo seems to be more stable.  Best Match definitely changed.

I also believe as it is for video that showing $ prices in the close up page at more than $150 for an HD clip instead of credits has seriously slowed video purchases.  Competition sells full HD for half or even less.   I believe its time for iStock video to create some price cuts to compete.

In an ideal world we would be happy selling higher in price of course but the market has a lot of supply outlets now and pricing is not conducive to buys as it once was.   I believe that iStock Video should standardize on $99 for full HD, $89 for 720p close to what it was before.    And that would still be priced higher up than most other outlets.

You will still have Vetta Video to have a specialized higher priced collection.

This analysis is pretty much in line with my experience with a 2 year decline and now only older videos are selling due to the previous BM shift. December was also dire but a lot of people suffering the same as well.

Something CLEARLY is happening. It is beyond normal market conditions.

I don't know what it is, and that's the problem: We have no control of what is really happeining.

It's like the quiaint farm stands you see on the side of the road. No cashier, or attendant. Just a basket to put money in on the honors system.

I know I don't have a huge collection, but I have had stability. see graph below. Somehtintg is OFF.

I've not ever had a month like this! Absolutly no point in checking my stats. It really can't get any worse! Strange that theres no word from istock as they must be experiencing this too!

I don't know what the seasonality of video buying is like, having only a few myself. Generally speaking, photos + videos, my sales have been OK so far. I say this not to boast, but because sometimes a thread like this can become a magnet for everyone whose sales have been bad over the last two weeks.

With the Getty-style of sales management, sales tend to be more lumpy - fewer in number, and less predictable, with (hopefully) a bigger return per sale. I just hope this is a temporary lull, and that a bit of seasonal sunshine in the spring will warm things up a bit with regard to video sales.

What we really don't need is more site changes before May.

No video or image sales since Wednesday. Wednesday's Best Match update completely stopped the sales...

I had very bad wednesday. Yesterday was OKish, but I think that it's not an issue of Best Match.

I've checked my files and they appear high in searches... First pages. I think the problem is with buyers.

Did you notice that most of the last downloads are from Credit Card sales (easy to calculate which ones) ? It means buyers aren't using as much credits as they did a while ago. They don't want to use istock as main source of stock ?
