Lobo, could you please ask the people behind the curtain kindly if they could at least confirm that no more files from istockers are moving over to google this week-end? Or until this newsletter comes out?


Some people are deactivating in protest only, but I think most are just genuinly concerned for their model released files moving into the wrong place without any control. At least if you see a solution down the line somewhere for the GG deal and somebody wants to lower the work for the reactivation team, then today or tomorrow would be a good time to make a one sentence announcement.


Is that really so hard?

Well far be it from me to kid a kidder. I understand the need for some kind of update so I'll do my best to provide something. I might have news on something else not google related but it has been a hot topic as well. I've been pretty adamant about managing people expectations on what they can expect to hear from us this week. Yes I made the mistake of saying we would have a newsletter this month not taking onto account that I had lost the ability to read a calendar earlier.

SO: Today, I will provide a couple of updates on two hot ticket items. I'm going to leave this thread open but I will also open a NEW thread to accommodate the news items.

Wow.  Those pretty gold crowns are looking alot more like choke-collars to me.  I am exceedingly glad I was never tempted to put one on.  I won't delete my tiny little portfolio, but I certainly won't be trusting IS with any more of my work either.  Good luck to all you exclusives, I feel for you.

To be honest, to me the recent newsletter reads like...


"Well, I guess we screwed up and we can't seem to get the Google lawyers to tear up those agreements that we signed, because after all... Google is a big company."


And Google didn't get to be big by being stupid! 


Either they are supplying the images under a license that iStock provided, or they are breaking the law.  Please do let us know which!

They've already clearly said the images were licensed via Getty.
