Hello everyone, I'm new in this funny community.
I have a question about file formats. I don't understand how a file must be Esp 10 and 8 compatible at the same time.
I have CS6, and saving a file as EPS10 format modify it in a 3.1 version (reading the file as text)
Assuming this paragraph of the manual :
Vector EPS File
The AI10 compatible EPS file is critical to your file's acceptance: without it we can't review your submission. But what if you're not using Illustrator and aren't sure you've saved the right EPS version? Easy. Open your EPS file into a text editing program and look at the top line of text. Your EPS file must read '3.0' or lower ('3.1' means the file is not AI8 compatible)
I'm not allowed to submit 3.1 files and so EPS10 files?
I think I missed something here.
Thanks in advance for your replyes
Sorry for the bad english

Sorry for the confusion. You can submit eps8 or eps10 files. If you saved as EPS10 you must include this information in the description.
Example: EPS10. Drop shadows used (or whatever effects it contains).
This is to help buyers so they know what to expect.

Looks like they missed a couple of things when they updated the training manual:
It's critical that your JPEG preview match your illustration, so double-check that you're uploading the correct preview with your vector EPS. The color, subject matter and composition of your JPEG must accurately reflect your AI8 EPS, or your illustration will be declined.

Yes, that sentence should have been deleted, it was missed for some reason. We've had a change request in for a while now, I'll see if I can bump the priority again. In the meantime our most up-to-date file format information can be found in this thread if you need it!

It can vary a bit, depending on how busy we get. But you shouldn't have to wait more than a few days for review. Also, sometimes the emails that you're sent can end up in a Junk Mail folder so if you get spam, double check to make sure it's not your application review before deleting it!
