This is the second time I got this message and the last one I bumbled around until it got accepted, but I've love to know how to do it right the first time.
Here's the message:
We regret to inform you that we cannot accept your submission, entitled Newcastle England ( https://i.istockimg.com/file_thumbview_approve/22882705/2/stock-photo-22882705-newcastle-england.jpg) for addition to the iStockphoto library for the following reasons:
The caption information in this submission appears to be inaccurate or misleading. All images must have an accurate production date, country of origin and accurate caption information to be accepted for royalty-free editorial use. Note that all captions must be submitted in english to be accepted. Captions must be in the format:
City, Country - Month Date, Year: Caption descriptive text.
Here's the image:
This is the caption: Newcastle, United Kingdom - November 11, 2009
Is it that I should have put England not United Kingdom? Something else.

'United kingdom' is fine. But did you not submit ANY descriptive information?
Something like ... "Night falls over wet street in city centre of Newcastle. A lone pedestrian crosses the street." or similar...

I know that might be a stupid question, but does your EXIF data, like date matches the date that is in the caption ??

"Newcastle, United Kingdom - November 11, 2009" - this is only part of the caption. It needs to include a description of the photo (including who, what, when, where, why).

Seems like your caption only contains the following:
Newcastle, United Kingdom - November 11, 2009:
And your description:
Stock photo description
An evening street in Newcastle England. United Kingdom
November 11, 2009
You caption will need information on the "right" side, basically the information you supplied in the description. But looking at the description, it does not describe the scene very well. There are unanswered questions when I look at this image, for example, where in Newcastle, does this area have a name, what are we looking at, buidlings, shopping area etc. The person in the image, is it a he or a she, just passing by?
So in order to comply with the captions we will need something like this from you:
Newcastle, United Kingdom - November 11, 2009: Pedestrian crossing the street in down town area of Newcastle at night along "main rd", with shops and "church" visible in the background.

Might also be worth putting Newcastle-Upon-Tyne to differentiate it from Newcastle-Under-Lyme.
