Dear everyone


Recently I saw several of my istock images for sale on a website called "istockreseller.com"


Does anyone know the relationship between this site and istockphoto if any?  The fee setup looked somewhat different than istockphoto, and the website was unfamiliar to me.  Maybe it's all legit... ?

It's still a game of cat and mouse with that domain but I will get with the folks in Compliance and Enforcement to see what is going on.

No. It's not legit. iStock HQ are aware and have been taking action to shut it down.

It was mentioned in the newsletter here.

We keep contacting ISPs they get taken down they start up elsewhere. I will see what I can find out tomorrow.

Several? From what I can tell from a spot check of my images, the entire iStock portfolio is being scraped.

I would go to verisign and godaddy and get the domain blocked and cut off the money supply.

My files are also there. Now I understand why I have less and less sales in the IS, last time close to zero.
Do we give our work here to publicly circulated on the internet? Today is March, 23rd.

You say that as though there are some photo contributors who don't have all of their files there, which seems to indicate that you perhaps do not understand how that site works. To be clear, all that site is showing are the results from a search, using iStock's thumbnails, the site doesn't have the full size files stored for all the results shown.

iStock is working to get the site shut down, something that has been stated several times. Obviously this is not as easy as many of you assume. As for those who are suggesting that calling GoDaddy is all that needs to be done, you do not understand the complexities involved.

If we have any news to share on the situation, I'm sure the will be a forum post. Until then, please know that iStock is doing what it can to deal with the issue.
