Thanks you a lot ! I hope they will perform well on stock, but the project was done mainly with promotional side in mind. I do aim on getting more vfx / TV work out of this.

Tomasz, how's the performance of your file in the past few month, for some people are weeping here?

The istock performance pushed me in the direction that I am preparing my files for going non-exclusive. Yes, istock performes very bad in last months. Sales decline match pretty closely istock traffic ranks based on alexa statistics. And I think now I have around 70% more content compared to February 2012... but sales are lower... I don't know if that's an content issue... you can check my portfolio.
Actually it's not only the performance its the policy istock has... Last year I've missed my 40% target by small margin... and thing that annoyed me the most is that if they woudn't screw up BM in November I would make it withouth problems. At the end they kind of recognised the issue by letting current 40% exclusives stay on the level if they didn't hit the target. And the contributors reletions here are terrible. Any time I contact them I get just template reponse... They don't even read the questions carefully.
I think that 2013 will be the year of many of us going indy. The content quality on other microstocks almost catch up. It's not like it used to be 2-3 year ago. The clients I worked with in 2012... none of them use istock as stock source anymore and this speaks for itself. That's my 2 cents.
The thing that I value the most here are contributors. You guys pushed the limits many times and I wish you all the best in upcoming years. My plan is to go indy, still produce stock videos but do more other work. Going back to the roots. Before I started doing stock i worked in vfx / tv production (Noddy TV series for example) and will go back to high profile jobs with my team now.

Tomasz, thanks for sharing the in depth thought, similar here. I'll give one last month to push and try my best (uploading unique ones, twist and clean keywords), actually today is my last day shooting for istock, then we will wait and see, but I don't think we can see any good change in the near future. I won't go back to my news work, but starting other projects already. Since my overall files are not that pop up, I probably will stay here as exclusive, just let it be. Good luck for everyone else!

Thanks for sharing. It seems the decline here has span over a few years, so I doubt we will see a bounce back over a few months. I think there isn't much choice. My largest issue with iStock is the lack of acknowledgement to the decline. I think the moderators here do a good job working with what they have and are allowed to share, but an overall communication from iStock on the state of sales (because that is what we are all really here for) would be great. All the best, excellent portfolio by the way.
