I hesitate to comment on this subject given the prickliness of iStock to negative comments recently, but I used to get plenty of referrals with the old system. I took one look at the new one and realised its purpose was to put a stop to referral payments if possible so didn't bother implementing it.

Want people to refer buyers? Make a referral system that actually rewards the forwarder in a simple, honest manner. Enough with the tricksiness. Is tricksiness even a word? It should be.

If you can keep your comments civil you'll have no problems in here. Criticism is fine and you will find it's actually greatly appreciated. So please feel free to be as honest as you need to be. Just, you know, keep it civil so we are actually reading your thoughts not your emotions.

Carry on.

I'm always impressed by those zen masters who can separate their thoughts and emotions.

The trick is not to write them down in a public forum I guess.

It wouldn't be the interwebs if we didn't have a little of both

It's all about balance.

For me the new system looked too much hassle to implement, I'm sure if I put the energy in, I can implment it, but reading the results that others achieve, i cannot be bothered. I did have referrals in the old system.

The Moo card program was cancelled quite a while ago (Details here) and the codes they had do not comply with the referral system introduced in Oct 2011 either.

So to shortly summarize:
If I am right, everybody who replied in this thread had referrals with the old system and none with the new one. There were even obvious errors in stats shown.

One could come to the conclusion that this is seriously broken with referrals not caught or not properly reported.

Any comments from any official HQ person or why did you start this thread?

Sorry I just double checked. This thread was not started by HQ. An answer would be nice nevertheless.

I have doubts that the system is working. I have been posting social links under the program all are at 0 views...which I had asked some friends to click to see if their views would register...still 0

New system does not work. Refferals has dropped to exactly zero for IS. The other ones keep delivering.

I really hope it is because of bugs.

Can someone from iStock confirm the referrel system isn't working? I'd rather not waste my time if it isn't.

Seems like nobody in HQ wants to take this obvious problem up. Frustrating! Forgot to mention this example in the exclusives survey...

It would be nice to know if They feel it is working or know if it isn't. I did finally see some views...so maybe it is.

Yesterday I sent a referral link to a buyer and they made a purchase within a few hours. The referral area shows they viewed the link and signed up but it's not showing I got referral earnings from their purchase. Unless there's some sort of delay in referral payment, I'd say this is pretty solid additional evidence something is wrong.

Somehow my old reply got missing:

I created my website solely for SEO of my Istock portfolio. Since October last year, Google Analytics shows me 1.369 unique visitors. I usually have 5 to 10 visitors each day, with the most traffic coming in from google image search.

I even can tell what they are looking for:
black and white trees
black tree
tree silhouette
tree photoshop
black trees
oak tree silhouette
baroque sculpture
bonsai tree
silhouette tree
silhouette trees

They viewed 1853 single photos on my website. 310 of these visitors finally followed a link to Istock, 3 apparently signed up, but none of these seems to have bought a photo.

LOBO ETA: PHOTO REMOVED BECAUSE IT LINKS TO AN ADULT ORIENTED SITE.
