In LR, I rarely set the sharpening more than 20 for iStock. Even the default 25 is too much for many images. Sharpening I often best left to the client who knows how much sharpening they may need to apply, depending on size they need for their final use be it print or digital.

A good camera and a good shot should not need anything but a simple subtle output sharpening applied to the RAW. Export to 16bit TIFF and apply local sharpening if needed in Photoshop. That generally causes fewer headaches.

Same as Kelvin, I never go over default sharpening of 25. I typically stay between 10-20 for ISO 100 and 0-5 on higher ISO images.


Did you try applying lens correction within LR4?

It's accepted!!!! Nearly unbelievable! Must have been an other viewer
