Scout request from Jan not answered, anyone?

Two similar files, framed the main subject one on the left of the picture, one on the right, one accepted, the other rejected for "similar".


But I won't request for sout this time. Other requests from early Jan still sitting there unanswered. In that case, one in the background is a black car running left, the other one is a white car running right, one accepted, the other one rejected for "similar".


I believe an inspector has to be a good editor first, a good photographer/cameraman can't necessarily be a good inspector. Unfortunately this advise was included in my scout request. Delayed because of my arrogant?

I think it is often too easy for it to be to marked as "similar" when it is in line with the other. Next time if you offset the submissions I believe you can up the chances of them being included. I have seen variation as subtle as color changes often. Maybe they have become more stricht in that regard. I sometimes wish they could provide more insight into rejections other than the canned responses.

Okay, so just so I'm clear:

You have two similar files of which one was approved and one was rejected. You aren't going to submit a ticket to Scout because you still have a ticket from January that hasn't been resolved. Which you have documented in your second Paragraph.

Your last post is your opinion on how an inspector has to be a good editor, but a good photographer/videographer isn't necessarily a good inspector. Which Scout ticket are you referring too here:



Can you please clarify this for me so I can attempt to respond to your thread? This is the second thread you have started today. The first was about site speed, this is your second. So I wonder if you are having a bad day or if you just want to be visible in the Video Forums.

Regarding the slow website, if you could, no offending, could you do a test of uploading a video on your machine, and let me know how you feel. With $70/month comcast broadband, I don't thing internet speed is an issue.


Regarding the scout. It did happened to me. In the other previous scout request, they even didn't bother to look at it again, just ignored, I have to request it again. I don't know why. This time two months past, I could only think it is because I am a jerk.


A good editor knows or can find a way to take advange of the footage and make best use of it. If we don't share the same view, or give the opptunate to the editers/buyers, many will be rejected. Not to mention our hard  work and time wasted. OK, I may not be top ranked, but I have been editing for about 10 years, 3 years of it editing for AP business and entertainment. Many times junk footage from the field (news shots were not planned, you capture whatever available) will shine through my edit.

Lobo, don't bother about the scout, I take whatever God gives me. Really, no more scout request. I only wish iStock can hire a few more inspectors to shorten the review time to one week for exclusive, two weeks for non-ex, and upgrade the istock server.

Okay, so this wasn't something you needed any help with? You were just providing me with something to try and figure out so you could essentially tell me that we need more Video Inspectors.
