What is this genre

Can you guys please help me out with clarifying the genre of this wonderful track from Clay. I guess it's electro/ambient but I'm new to electronic music and looking into some courses and I need some advice on a starting point with regards to genre.

me would write pop/easy listening,
but I'm not an expert in those genres where you use other dynamics than forte & fortissimo

I don't know about the genre either ...


pop/Easy listening describes it pretty well. Maybe "generic Background Music" would describes it better.


 

Thanks guys I know it's a tough one, but if I had to take an electronic music course, what parent electronic genre course should I be looking at to produce something like Clay did.


BTW Clay and Picca, if you don't mind, what daw are you using and do you work manually with midi and samples or do you use for example ultrabeat or reason to do the drums patterns and what are your go-to synths? Personally I use logic and komplete 8.

Ifyou can help you, in my opinion a track in this model (i'm taliking about its shape not its musical sound) i categorized it "background music".

atm Maschine, Stylus RMX and several Kontakt libraries are my go to tools for beats, so mostly midi triggered drum sounds

Omnisphere, Zebra 2 and all the Komplete Synths

Nothing "generic" about any of your work Clay. The genre is Background Music in the category of Pop.


The background music genre casts a wide net...I think it would be useful to the buyers if it had sub categories, as there are so many different types of background music. And putting it in the pop genre would nt be specific enough for this file. IMHO
