![]() ![]() Posted Tue Mar 19 2:22AM | Can you guys please help me out with clarifying the genre of this wonderful track from Clay. I guess it's electro/ambient but I'm new to electronic music and looking into some courses and I need some advice on a starting point with regards to genre. http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-audio-18191303-together.php?st=47fe5db Thanks Lenner |
![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Tue Mar 19 3:30AM | me would write pop/easy listening, but I'm not an expert in those genres where you use other dynamics than forte & fortissimo |
![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Tue Mar 19 6:48AM | I don't know about the genre either ... pop/Easy listening describes it pretty well. Maybe "generic Background Music" would describes it better. |
![]() ![]() Posted Tue Mar 19 7:25AM | Thanks guys I know it's a tough one, but if I had to take an electronic music course, what parent electronic genre course should I be looking at to produce something like Clay did. BTW Clay and Picca, if you don't mind, what daw are you using and do you work manually with midi and samples or do you use for example ultrabeat or reason to do the drums patterns and what are your go-to synths? Personally I use logic and komplete 8. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Tue Mar 19 7:57AM | Ifyou can help you, in my opinion a track in this model (i'm taliking about its shape not its musical sound) i categorized it "background music". Beautiful track ---for example, althought it's anther king of sonority, this is background music for my opinion (Edited on 2013-03-19 08:02:07 by -Bobforma-) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Tue Mar 19 9:15AM | Hi Lenner >what daw are you using Cubase and Ableton Live >do you work manually with midi and samples or do you use for example ultrabeat or reason to do the drums patterns atm Maschine, Stylus RMX and several Kontakt libraries are my go to tools for beats, so mostly midi triggered drum sounds >go-to synths Omnisphere, Zebra 2 and all the Komplete Synths |

Maybe "generic Background Music" would describes it better. Nothing "generic" about any of your work Clay. The background music genre casts a wide net...I think it would be useful to the buyers if it had sub categories, as there are so many different types of background music. And putting it in the pop genre would nt be specific enough for this file. IMHO |
