![]() Posted Wed Mar 20 6:49PM | I think it is fixed & link should work... Hi everyone, I am new to istock, and I have had a few rejections which have all stated the same reasons. I feel like I am making the same mistake over and over:/ ... maybe I'm running too dark, white balance is off? I'm just not sure, however I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me, and maybe what I should do to correct it. Thanks for your time and consideration. Rae Anna Rejection Reason We found the overall composition of this file's lighting could be improved. Some of the technical aspects that can all limit the usefulness of a file are: -Flat/dull colors -Direct on-camera flash and/or flash fall-off (bright subject, dark background) -Harsh lighting with blown-out highlights that lack details and/or distracting shadows - Distracting lens flares -Incorrect white balance Rejected files: Parrots Cat Boots (Edited on 2013-03-20 19:38:06 by RaeAnnaFrame) (Edited on 2013-03-20 20:38:55 by RaeAnnaFrame) (Edited on 2013-03-21 06:54:47 by kelvinjay) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Mar 21 5:38AM | The shot is underexposed. Apart from that there is quite a lot of noise in the feathers and the background, possibly from sharpening. It's best not to sharpen for here. The whole shot doesn't look particularly sharp to me either. Difficult to see what the problem is with the exif stripped. |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Mar 21 7:45AM | Lighting quality looks poor, on camera flash in the boots and parrots shots. Lighting is better on the cat shot (if the flash was still on camera, the effect is better because its so close up, and/or a light modifier has been used) . Cat and parrot are too dark, for boots the shot is too flat and washed out. (Edited on 2013-03-21 07:53:32 by esp_imaging) |

Additionally, none of these are particularly strong subjects for stock photography. All are extremely well covered and would require near technical perfection, much nicer light, and stronger compositions, in order to both be accepted and then to eventually sell. Discouraging critiques aside...keep at it! |
