Still having problems.

When fetching data it never completes...
9049682726_aac7a29c49_o

The previous version of Promato v1.1.1 still works on my laptop (not upgraded). The updated StatsPrime v1.4.00 on my desktop works without problems. This issue appeared on my desktop machine only after installing Promato v1.2.0 and still persists with v1.2.1

hi dp - sorry for the trouble you're having. the strange thing is that i can't reproduce the error. also, it seems to affect some users, and others not. i have reverted the part of the code which is causing the above to what it was in v1.1 so it shouldn't happen anymore now.

please update to v1.2.2 (and let me know if you should have any further trouble)

Raz, any reason you've gone with shades of blue in the bar graphs? They are not easily distinguishable from each other - to my eyes.

i went with the sahdes of blue because on the istock site, all "regular" download are displayed together, in blue. so i though it would make sense to show all regular downloads in blue in pomato as well, but as p distinguishes between collections, well, there came the shades. and now, with the sig/sig+ thing, there is one more shade which wasn't there before. i'll keep this in mind for the next version and try to make the colors more distinguishable.

A feature I would like to see is to be able to remove weekends on a tick-box.

due to the recent changes to istock's search, all lightbox-related features currently don't work.

i'll try to provide an updated version ASAP.

please update to v1.3.0 which adds the following:

  • Support for iStock's new search result page layout (needed for lightboxes)
  • New data fetch options in Settings Dialog
  • Stats - Sales on weekend days can be excluded from stats
  • Stats - Distribution: added "Bar Absolute" bar chart
  • Stats - Distribution: added "By File Age", "By Orientation"
  • Bar charts - Weekend days marked with gray background
  • Minor fixes

concerning the data fetch options you can now:

  • choose to refetch the collection assigment for all files, without doing a clean fetch. as istock will now be moving files from one collection to another, this should be useful now and then.
  • set the date from which to fetch sales data & new uploads on a regular update. you will normally not need this (the app will fetch sales/uploads which occured since the previous update), but some users reported they were missing sales starting from a certain date. so for those cases, you can now manually set which data to refetch and don't have to do a full clean fetch anymore.

also, please note i will be at the slovenia minilypse from july 2nd till july 13th so there will be little to no support in that period.

hi inhaus, is it the dmg file you cannot open (i just redownloaded myself and it worked here) or can you open the dmg, but then not run the app itself? if it's the latter, it is most likely a security setting on your mac:

Troubleshooting and Installation Notes for Mac OS X Users

Mac OS X 10.8.x : When trying to run the app, an error message appears: "Pomato.app" is damaged and can't be opened.

This is is due to the default security settings of Mac OS X 10.8. These allow only applications downloaded from "Mac App Store and identified developers" to be run. To change this, please go to -> Apple menu -> System Preferences... -> Personal -> Security & Privacy -> General pane -> Allow applications downloaded from -> [x] Anywhere.

hope that helps!

Halfway through my trial of Pomato... loving it - loads of useful features, and for me it's by far the best way of checking GI sales, as well as working out what kind of files are selling best.

One question though Razvan - when it's refreshing (with the dialog box coming up), I switch to work on something else.  Then when that's finished, and I click 'close' and go back to the main window, and it does the 'refreshing, please wait' thing as the stats update... Is there a way the main window could refresh as part of the data fetch itself?  It's only a 20 second wait or something, but would be great if it could do that in the background along with the fetch.

ok, time for some new features -> v1.4.0

this version comes with the following changes:

  • Stats - Distribution - added "By Files' Total Downloads"
  • Stats - Keywords Report - added new column "Estimated Downloads per Keyword"
  • Keyword Optimizer - added over 1500 new keywords which can be added automatically, based on the term hierarchy in iStock's CV
  • Startup splash screen shows a notification if a newer software version is available

some words on the improved keywords optimizer: the updated version will find and suggest many more keywords than the old one did. all (new) suggestions are based on the terms hierarchy in istock's CV (e.g: "lantern -> lighting equipment -> equipment"). this means that depending on your file and the quality of your existing keywords, these suggestions may be more or less relevant. please review with care before updating your keywords.
