I am using Canon 40d at the moment and i want to upgrade a better high resolution camera. I also have some Canon stuff like speedlights, L series lenses. I want to buy a Canon 7d but 24mp Nikon looks attactive Does it worth to change all Canon stuff for high resolution Nikon?

You can compared the basics here:
Canon 7D vs Nikon D7100
I guess how suitable a camera is for you depends on what and how you want to shoot with it. Do you need the extra FPS of the Canon? Do you really need such huge files from the Nikon? Would you just be paying for features you won't use? In fact, what is it that your 40D doesn't do that you're wanting from the new body? Why not go for the 60D?
What I would say is that the 7D is pretty ancient now and long past due for replacement. If you've waited this long to get one, maybe hang on until its replacement is announced and snap one up cheap. On the other hand, the Nikon is newer and likely to out perform it in several areas.

If you have L lens, you can try 6D. It's a huge step from 40D. 7D is good at burst performance.

After a few days of shooting with my d7100, finally starting to appreciate it, thinking I made the right choice, plus 100% acceptance so far.
