I'm trying to decide if I should go exclusive once I reach my 250 downloads. Can someone please let me know if there is a change in the search criteria to push the exclusive files to the top of the page or do you simply get your crown and everything stays the same?

In other words does Istock push the sales of the exclusive photos or do all photos have the same priority?

The answer to this and most other common contributor questons can be found here:

iStock Contributor Guide and FAQ

Specifically:

What's exclusivity? How do I become an exclusive contributor?

As it says there "The Best Match has historically favoured exclusive work too, so your files may also gain some prominence in that." How much of a boost your existing files may get is debatable but newer uploads are more likely to be favoured.

I saw a boost many years ago when I went exclusive. Can't say it would necessarily happen the same way now. Do your research.

" but newer uploads are more likely to be favoured."

I'm certainly not seeing this, what evidence is there to support this claim? I have pretty much stopped uploading at the moment, although still producing images, specifically because this isn't the case for me at the moment. New uploads are getting minimal views and disappearing quickly.

The subject being discussed here is what you are likely to see as an exclusive vs what you would see as a non exclusive. New exclusive contributors certainly do report that their new uploads are more prominently featured than they were when they were not exclusive. Hope that's now sufficiently clear for you.
