I've got a form of "Shoot Plan Template".

Should I fill it according to shoots related with "We Love Local"?

Thank you very much for posting this very interresting link because many of us don't receive the newsletter from IS because of a bug still in progress, and that's a shame, I still see with this ...

The email briefs are often more detailed and only sent to Exclusive artists. Thus you can only access the PDF linked above.
We are also segmenting them according to file type - so there will be separate video and photo briefs.

If you are Exclusive and interested in the expanded briefs, please check the exclusive forum here:

I hope that you let the inspectors know that blurred imagery or off color and other creative avenues will be relaxed. I'm tired of getting rejections for images that say" Proper White balance or blurry images" Not accepted!

Anyway to let them know your looking for such creative imagery, and relax the rejections. Some great relaxed photos aren't perfect, and have a blurred feel, off color natural look.

It's great to shoot this way, it's another getting it past the inspectors!!!

Yes - but you can also use it for submitting any shoot you have planned that may benefit from an Art Director's feedback.

I totally agree.

iStock says they want less 'stocky' images..... but I generally only submit images here that I know have a good chance of getting accepted. From my experience, anything that pushes the boundaries of the strict technical check-list (lens flares, motion blur, soft-focus - all the things that my commercial clients generally look for and have been demanding for many years now) tend to have a much tougher time getting through inspections so I simply don't bother shooting and submitting this style for iStock. The risk of having a whole series of images held captive in my reject history due to subjective lighting/motion-blur assessment is too great. iStock is way behind the time on these trends so I hope this latest 'Creative Resources' newsletter will result in a little more flexibility with inspections.... and we'll all be able to add some much needed variety to our portfolios and offer our customers what they're really looking for. A beautiful image rarely ticks all the boxes of technical check-list.

I agree, these kind of images get rejected all the time, I am not sure it is worth the risk!

Lens flares, motion blur, soft-focus - try us! We do want these images. We want you to get creative and break the mold. If you don't submit them, we can't show you that we'd accept them!

To give some background, over the last year we've been constantly refining the inspection standards. We relaxed a ton of standards about a year ago now and the inspection team look for beauty/saleability over technical issues. If you have an image rejected that you feel shouldn't have been then please scout it.  The scout queue is pretty short / fast nowadays and if it's been rejected in mistake it will get overturned. We then feedback overturned images to the inspectors, both 1 on 1 and as a group.

So don't be afraid something might get rejected. Submit it and see. smile
