There are many more. Pick others if these don't suite your budget.
You may fly into Idaho Falls Airport or Salt Lake City Airport, then drive 3.30 hour drive to Idaho Falls. Our shoot will be about 40 minutes North of Idaho Falls. We will be meeting at a place to be determined and travel caravan style to the Dunes the morning of the shoot.
Clothing Suggestions: This is Idaho. Be prepared for hot, hot and cold cold. In the event there is lots of wind the day of our shoot, we will move it to a more hospitable location. Sand can be a real threat to the health of your camera if the wind blows to severly.
Here are some shots of WWII Military I have shot in this area before. Yours will be similar with different models. All costuming is authentic and true to period. This is an event you don't want to miss. On my original investment of $500 for this shoot, I made $3500-$4000 in a one year period. Now you have that opportunity to make some great money as well, only we have done all the leg work for you.
Anyone who attends might be aware that Yellowstone National Park is just a few more miles down the road. When you are through with the shoot, you might want to wander that way and take in all the beauty Mother Nature has to offer.
ADDING THIS SHOOT INFORMATION TO THE BEGINNING AND END OF THIS FORUM THREAD. PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE COMING.
We went to the Dunes location tonight and it is going to be super fun!!! Can't wait. Some people are thinking of doing a Circus theme with the animals. If you want to bring props around that that might be something we can work with. The military will pretty much bring their own props. And they are going to be good. If anyone needs picked up at the airport, please let me know ahead of time so I can arrange to pick you up. I live close by, so it is easy for me to come get you.
Dinner will be at my home at 6:30 pm July 12th.
$12 per plate to pay for the meat and food.
Afterward will be a social planning hour or two where we will brainstorm and help Casey Paint. Surprise.
1555 N Romantica Dr.
Idaho Falls, ID 83402
Head West on Highway 20.
Pass Reed's Dairy, the soccer fields and the stop light.
The next road will be 35th. Turn North
Go about 1 mile until you get to Francesca Dr. Turn Right/East.
My house is the second house on the left.
Pink Sidewalks and a big 3 car garage and rock face on the front of the house.
I am soooo excited for this shoot. Rayce and Scott are working hard! And everyone is going to have a total blast!
Bring a sack Breakfast. Lunch will be provided as will some chips, drinks and food. Porta Potty will also be available. Makes it nice since there aren't to many places to hide around there. We will have a hot dog dinner with chips and marshmellows over the fire for dinner. Dinner will kind of be on the go whenever you get a break.
Props everyone. Think Props!
In the morning there will be Military. Dress uniforms, Combat uniforms. Nurses Uniforms.
Lunch Break - With some possible spare floating models - no theme.
Afternoon: Special Forces and WWII Jeeps etc. And things that go boom (Kinda).
Afternoon and through the evening we will have Rayces and Scotts Humanoids. They will probably come out one at a time. So maybe we will mix and match or shoot them individually paparazzi style. That will depend on how long it takes Rayce and Scott to finish their creations. We learned a lot at this last event. So we can work together on some of these.
Silhouettes in the evening. All the humanoids and WWII.
You will get further instructions at the dinner where we will be meeting Saturday mornring.
Just in case you can't make it I am thinking of meeting at the Gun Shop parking lot just South of Reed's Dairy. I don't remember its name but it is right next to the Maverick Gas Station on the corner of Bellin and Broadway. Be in the parking lot at 6:15. We will caravan from there.
Looking forward to shooting with all of you. It is going to be some serious fun!!!
If you have questions: Shoot me an email. Kriss@krissrussell.com
See you soon!
OK Everyone. Here is the scoop on the military and what you can expect on them for uploading. Read Below.
For those that plan to upload to iStock there are some guidelines for uploading military, memorabilia, uniforms and even how people look. There is also important info at the bottom regarding the way people need to be groomed etc. These are the restrictions the Military has placed on us at iStock. We have to follow these if we want to have military images approved.
The WWII Jeeps are okay if all logos, emblems etc are removed.
The Wooden Food boxes 'should' be okay but don't be surprised if they go to the executive queue for a 2nd opinion if you do leave the text on them. On one there was a large K with a moon shape beside it. I would remove that one to be safe.
What needs to be removed from uniforms, vehicles, etc:
- all badges, emblems or patches of any kind.
- Any Red Crosses need to have the color changed. We cannot accept a red cross on white because the red Cross is a trademarked logo.
- We cannot accept images with German Helmets or officers caps in them. The soft folded green hat that Ben wore could be uploaded if the small front logo/symbol is removed.
- no Swastikas, german eagles, cross etc
- the standard star logo is fine but no squad logos can be accepted.
- The wordings: U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S Marines are trademarked and cannot appear in RF
Imagery featuring models portraying U.S. Military personnel must be done within the guidelines set by each division.
-Models must be wearing a head cover (hat/helmet) for all outdoor scenes
Men: No facial hair (beards and goatees) except for mustaches that are neatly trimmed, tapered (no big or handlebar mustaches). Short well trimmed sideburns are allowed.
Men must have short and well groomed haircuts (neat and conservative hairstyle)
Women hairdos must be conservative and neatly groomed. Conservative braided hairstyles are acceptable. Hair must not fall or extend past the eyebrows.
Dreadlocks are not allowed (men or women)
Clothing must be worn in a proper fashion. Shirts buttoned up. Any attire that may be looked at as being sloppy and/or not represent well the Marines, Army, Navy or Air Force, should not be allowed
