inspection process

I'm curious about the inspection process.  I can upload 2 (or more) images, one right after another, and one gets inspected immediately (either accepted or rejected), and another might take a couple days.  I just wonder why this is. I understand that editorial goes through a different process, but I am referring to just the regular images for exclusive contributors.  No complaints, just curious.

Thank you very much.  Yes, helpful...but always a confusing and elusive process to me.
