![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Mon Sep 25, 2006 7:56AM | Simon's post about Lightroom's (labs.adobe.com) Beta 4 release reminded me that I have a bunch of great Lightroom resources to share. Please post your own as well. NAPP's Lightroom Learning Center - A great place to get started. PhotoshopNews - Yes, a great Photoshop resource for sure, but this is a compliation of all Lightroom news. Including awesome lightroom podcasts. If you are ready to get serious the Adobe Lightroom eBook for Digital Photographers can be purchased on PDF format. My Lightroom Blog! (Edited on 2008-02-10 19:23:14 by sylvanworks) |

![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Sun Oct 1, 2006 4:35PM | Luminous Landscape has a great Lightroom First Look and Primer, which might be a great place to start if you don't know anything about it: "In a word or two, Lightroom is best described as next-generation photographer's software. Simply calling it a raw file converter, or an image processing program, would miss the fact that Lightroom also is designed for sorting, cataloging, presenting and printing ones files. It is intended to offer photographers the vast majority of the tools that they need when working on their images – all under one roof. And, even though it's from Adobe, it breaks with a number of the Photoshop and Camera Raw paradigms, providing photographers with new, powerful, and in many cases easier to use tools for processing their images." (note: this is a bit outdated, but it gives a good history) (Edited on 2006-10-01 17:13:35 by sylvanworks) |

![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Fri Jan 5, 2007 10:25PM | If you are a NAPP member get ready for a new publication to land in your mailbox called Darkroom, which is a brand new magazine devoted entirely to Lightroom. You can read more about the deal on Scott Kelby's blog. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jan 18, 2007 5:13PM | A round up of the current crop of Lightroom books on the Photoshop blog. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Wed Jan 24, 2007 1:45PM | Why is this forum post a sticky? |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Wed Jan 24, 2007 1:49PM | Also I posted on my blog last december places to find video tutorials on lightroom some of these are the ones above as well as some that are not. http://entitydesigns.blogspot.com/2006/12/adobe-lightroom-video-tutorials.html |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Wed Jan 24, 2007 1:55PM | Also Darkroom will not land in your mailbox till Adobe Lightroom gets out of beta and is released. As far as books are concerned I am a little weary of someone who would publish a book on something before the final released product gets out. Besides you can learn to use lightroom for free, you just need to know where to look. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Mon Jan 29, 2007 5:00PM | Not sure if every one has realised this yet, but Adobe have now officially anounced the release of Lightroom. This means the Beta versions will expire (some time near the end of feb it appears), and there is an introductory offer of $199 for the USA and £125 for the UK - sorry don't have a Euro price at this time. After a while (April?) the price goes up to $299 and £175. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Mon Feb 5, 2007 2:45AM | Want to email from Lightroom? Now you can. So simple, and works like a charm. ETA: Works in b4.1. Presumably will work in 1.0 too... (have already pre-ordered my copy. Edit: Looks like v1.0 v1.0 actually includes proper email export anyway... (link is to tutorial video). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Tue Feb 6, 2007 3:21PM | Be aware that Photobinders (the backup mechanism for Lightroom Beta) have been DROPPED from v1.0 release, and v1.0 may not recognize any binders you may have already created. Bummer. |
