I'm just putting the feelers out there to see if anyone in the General Seattle area, and well the Pacific Northwest to boot would be interested in monthly photostrolls and social meetups.
Ras and I haven taken part in a monthly flickr meetup in the past. They've always been fun. We were talking about it the other night and were wondering how many people would actually be interested in attending something like this.
These would not be monthly Mini'Lypse events. These would be social gatherings, bring your camera for some snapshots and socializing with fellow iStockers. If you get some stock out of it... super, if you don't well that's just fine too.
What we would try to do is pick some interesting places to go visit in the Puget Sound area, we all meetup have some lunch then go stroll our destination and take some shots. These meetups will be free, as in you don't need to buy a ticket. You just show up and pay your own lunch bill. Easy peasy.
I know I've talked to a few locals already who have expressed interest, but I'd like to see if there are others who would like to jump on the chance to meet up with fellow iStockers in a low-key social atomsphere. So lemme know

yes, please . . . I wouldn't be able to meet monthly, but maybe every other month or quarterly? (Portland is fun too )

We'll be back "in the hood" come the New Year so count us in

I'd love to get in on some of these and socialize a bit.

I cannot tell you how jealous I am of each and every one of you. The Pacific NW is my spiritual iStock home. I'll be with you all in spirit each time you get together. In fact, someone drink a lot of beer for me the next time you all meet up.

I'll happily drink a few beers for you, but I'm not shaving my head
I'm super happy to see that we have some interest in this. I don't want to put this group up on Meetup.com because, well... we'll end up with people who don't understand the whole iStock thing.
I do want to put something together before the Christmas Holiday, I'll get back to you all on that!

Okay... Ras and I are putting together a website just for this little dealy.
Since these aren't Mini'Lypses, we are calling them "Micro'Lypses" instead. So the domain is purchased, and we are awaiting the name servers to refresh so we can load some junk into the new domain's trunk.
Give it about 48 hours... Micro'Lypse site will be hosted here:

Damn! I wish I lived in WA I do have family out there though, so if I go to visit, I'll make sure to coordinate the plans

I'm down. Can't wait.

I would love to be on the list of possible attendees. I may not be able to make all NW Micro'Lypses but I may be able to work in a couple every few months or so.
Posted Tue Nov 7, 2006 3:08PM
Woooo! I am making a list of all you folks

With the exception of Kelly and Ras, I've already shared a beer (or at least hung out) with each of you people. And bar none, you're all pretty damn cool. I've got a great idea! Do your Seattle area microlypses IN TUCSON! Everyone wins!

Ethan... you need to move to where the cool people are

I could maybe make some of them, if I know the details.

I'll be adding details for a December and January Microlypse next week, so stay tuned
