Hear yee, hear yee. Come to Phileeeeee?

I'm looking for interested folks to visit the city of Philadelphia to shoot.

The Cradle of Liberty. Historic yet contemporary. It's a major metropolis so don't expect green fields and pastures. Think cheesesteaks, soft pretzels and Rocky with an air of sophistication. 90 minutes south of NYC if you're considering a combo trip piggybacked.

Plenty to do and see

I haven't called these places yet. Just looking to see who is interested.

The Hub

Commercial photography permitted but limited and $.

Prison

Update: prison is closed until April. Not heated!

Tentative date: February or March 2007

When things get dull and boring after the holiday let down, but you've made your first payment dent on your credit card debt for holiday spending.

I have a few locations in mind but as always, budget and number of attendees will dictate that. Let's chat!

Nan -

I'm interested - can't commit until the date gets closer, though!

I'm in...as long as we can go to Pat's Steaks.

I think Jim's Steaks at 4th and South is better Di. Tony Luke's is not shabby either.
Why are you thinking about cheesesteaks when you know that I'll feed you danish?

I just want to get a headcount Brett. Thanks for your interest!

Isn't Geno's the place to go for steak?
Posted Fri Nov 17, 2006 1:30PM
Geno's is across the street from Pat's, Ethan. However, after a drunken spree and hunger strikes, those 2 places have an advantage that they are open at 2AM when the bars close.
You eat your cheesesteak holding it away from your body so the grease drips onto the sidewalk and doesn't mess up your clothes. That's how it's done!

Jim's is not open all hours like the other two. I used to live at 5th and South many years ago. (do NOT wonder how I know all this).

We were probably in the line together and didn't even know it

Only if the line is too long at Pat's

Nan, you can put me down as a maybe, but I can't commit yet pending family business in California.
Posted Fri Nov 17, 2006 1:44PM
Count me in.
Posted Fri Nov 17, 2006 1:48PM
I'm interested.

Man, this is already shaping up to be an all-star lineup. I'm afraid I don't think I'll be able to make it. I'm pretty well committed to being in NY the weekend of Feb 16-17-18, so if it's that weekend I'm out. If it's any other weekend, I'm still out, since I don't think I can stay on the east coast for a week and a half.

Hope you all have a blast, though!

Nan

You can count me in from just up 95 in New Jersey.

LOL, Ethan. NTW, I've done some poking
Stay posted. No date set yet. Old familiar faces, new ones I'd like to squeeze and plenty of istockers that I have never met in person. That's my only requisite beyond doing some shooting, of course!

Hey Nan! This sounds like fun! I can't commit at the moment but will seriously consider it when a date is set.

I would like to run a short lighting clinic too. Nothing too elaborate.
"Maybe" studio strobes and also speedlights. I know Nikon but will see if some of my *cough* Canon friends can help me out on that front.

Charlie! Pretty close for you. I'm thrilled.
Sharon, maybe we can make up for some lost time in Boston.

Calumet is in Philly and I also know another photo dealer that I might be able to lean on for stuff...

I'm interested! I hope a date will be set soon though because I have friends who want to visit in Feb. You might want to consider somewhere around 2/19 since some people may be off for Presidents' Day.

Thanks for the heads up Nan! The weekend around valentine's day would be out for me, but I'll keep an eye out for the date you pick.

Great idea, Bonnie. Maybe more models available too.
You're in, but only if you bring David.
Posted Fri Nov 17, 2006 2:39PM
Put me down as a definite maybe.
