I've tried just about every kind of search I can think of. There are no kid "contraptions" in the iStock library.
masks made out of a paper bag
a rocket made out of a plastic soda/water bottle
a plant growing in an egg carton
puppets that have hair made out of cotton
a racing car made out of a cardboard box
These are the type of things I would love to see for use in a kid newsletter aimed at parents. Isolated would be ideal. Unrealistically, I need something today but even if my deadline goes by, I'd purchase some for future use.
Here's just about the only "art project" I found but, again, not what I'm looking for.

With four kids, I've got plenty of 'kid contraptions' around. Do you want only the isolated items or kids in the pictures also?

Cool. Just the contraptions will work for me.

Here's a "kid" anatomy project, if that helps.

Carl, you macaroni man is hillarious! Love it. I can't use it for this project but maybe in a future newsletter.
Nancy, your first one would be the closest to what I'm thinking. The second one looks too close to a mask I could buy at the party store.

I think you might get some of what you are looking for by searching on the term:
Although it brings up a lot of food, it also brings up some good results. Some that I found:

Can you tell that Brett raked in a few finder's fees in the old BuyRequest?
Hmmm, I think I should ul my birdhouses!

Hehe. Yes and I really appreciate it. I never had the time to go through "filling out" a request.
Nan, now would definitely be a good time to ul those birdhouses. I'm almost done with the winter nl, Spring will follow soon after Valentine's Day.
