Grab Your Raingear, it's a Vancouver Microlypse.
Turn off the computer, put on the boots, step out the door and rub your tired eyes...
we're gettin' together.
when: February 10, at 7:00 pm
where: Samba Restaurant, 1122 Alberni St. in Vancouver
[ http://www.thaihouse.com/samba/index.html ]
Nuno says: Just to let everyone in on the big deal about Samba. It's a Brazilian Rodizio style restaurant. This means that if you order the Rodizio, a "swordsman" comes to your table with a sword of meat. He slices you a chunk from a variety of over a dozen types of meat (chicken, pork, beef, lamb, venison, etc., etc. all cooked in a rotisserie style).. there's also a large salad bar. On weekends there's live entertainment which includes male Capoeira dancers and female Carnival style dancers with elaborate costumes. Should be quite the party. We got the VIP room which means we'll be able to have the dancers come into our room and still be able to chat without having to yell over the entertainment.
Looks rad. Gonna order a big plate of pao de queijo, Nuno?
when: February 11, at 12:00 pm
where: Granville Island Public Market
Next day, we'll meet at the market, grab some sort of caffeinated beverage, and proceed on foot throughout the island. There is plenty to see however, we will most likely be drifting towards the brewery.
There will be a minimum of three inspectors present, but we won't sit in a dunk tank.
Check back often to see updates. We'll be sending out sitemails with more info and contact details.
