As a rule, do IOTWs sell well?

I notice that this week's IOTW has had 2 downloads and just wondered if previous IOTW owners had found that their images sell well as a result of this status?

At a slight tangent, I can offer an interesting (and slightly strange) fact about the Free Image Of The Week (FIOTW).


I recently had one. In the 10 weeks before it was FIOTW, it had ONE sale. During the FIOTW period it had 44,617 downloads (about 800 at XS size). In the week AFTER it stopped being free (last week), it had ELEVEN sales.


Obviously, IOTW and FIOTW get extra exposure which pushes them up the ratings and the searches; thus leading to added sales.


I hope this slightly deviated response was of interest.

I noticed the same with my FIOTW a while back.

Also an image linked to it, horizontal rather than portrait did well whilst I had FIOTW

Aside from the IOTW, I saw no bump, really, in other images.

My FIOTW has sold pretty well after some 42,000 ish free downloads, must get used on istock promos and other things, so the extra exposure must do the trick.
