Current features in a nutshell:
* Fetch your portfolio details from iStockphoto and manage them locally: change keywords and DA, change title/description.
* View the ratings and comments for all your files in 1 list, and sort by "date", "rater", "initial rating", "file was downloaded". Handy for tracking down those elusive latest ratings-without-comment.
* Upload new images, with support for multiple model/property releases.
* Editorial uploads are supported!

very nice application!

i will try to upload some new files with it during upcoming weekend.

however my first observations is that user can't see how many lightboxes are linked to image. that would be useful!
and another one - where are files numbers?

beside this - well done!!

yeaaahh... this is another step forward with your almost outstanding application.

however... is it possible to see not only public lightboxes but private as well?
i think this is sometimes useful when u can see if your image is still popular by anyone

i hope i'll give u some feedback about uploading after weekend

Franky, if I were an all-powerful admin, your SpecOps site badge would be in the fire as we speak.  Looks great so far, pretty as well as functional.  I'll experiment and try to break it for you this weekend.  Isn't that what alpha testing is for?

I see what you mean ... I think it could be done. Where you thinking of just an extra column with the number of private lightboxes? or something more elaborate?

I don't have vectors myself, so I'm not familiar with the upload process, but I guess the main difference with image upload is that for vectors you have to submit 3 files instead of one? This would be very easy for me to implement.
However ... the iStock API would have to support this. At the moment, it doesn't.
I'll put it on my Christmas wishlist to iStock for new API features though

hmmm... i think just another column would be enough. i don't know if there are some more option with lightboxes to make.. are there?

Now I have one security question... if we use third party software like this, how we can be sure that somehow our user and password data won't be sent to someone?

This is a valid and pertinent question. I'm glad you asked

Every 3rd party developer has a contract with iStockphoto and the developed application is assigned a unique API key. Whenever iStock would receive complaints from users that their login credentials were compromised by the program, iStock has the power to revoke the API key and render the application useless.

Of course, ultimately, it's all a matter of trust. During the beta stage I will assemble a privacy statement for the software, with details of what happens with your data. In short: your username/password are stored on your PC only, encrypted with a 128 bit algorithm. They are sent to the iStock server whenever info is retrieved, such as your image statistics or for uploading. Passwords are NOT sent/stored in some central DeepMeta database: they are stored on your PC only. They are not exchanged with any other party.

I hope this satisfies your concerns. Feel free to ask for more

Pretty well.


I install and try this program. It seems to be much better than ImgManager. Now you have one more alpha/beta/delta tester

I can help with beta testing for Apple if you wish Anyway for now what shall i do to install the windows version on my mac? Could you elaborate more on the steps to be taken please I haven't installed windows on it yet but I am willing to do it, if necessary.

I run Mac OS X, intel based.

@kemie: ahhhh yes ... a little help in the "nagging to istock" department would certainly be welcome if you ever want Vector upload implemented

@olandesina: there are 2 "easy" but expensive options:
1. Using Apple Boot camp to install Windows on a separate partition of your hard disk so that you can boot your system as either Mac OS or Windows.
2. Using Parallels Desktop for Mac OS.

I'm not familiar with either products, but do realize, it's going to cost you money: you'll need to buy a Windows licence (+ the Parallel software in the second solution). You'll probably like option 3 (below) better.

3. There's a third option, but this isn't ready yet: probably by the end of next month, I should have a version of DeepMeta ready that can run on Mac OS X, using the Mono environment. As soon as it's ready and tested, I'll have all the details. Sorry to keep you waiting
