I just had an idea, - dare I say it? I had a daydream about timed uploads.

Ooooo! I love that idea. (but, of course, I'm not the one that has to spend time programming it...). I am always behind on getting my seasonal images shot and uploaded. This would be the answer for those.

Can you give an idea of the size of those images (in pixels and also in MBytes), and how much memory you have in your system? Thanks.

The most recent was pixel size of 16225 x 3888, and 12 MB. I have 3.25 GB of RAM. Total free space on my hard drive is 552GB.

I was able to reproduce this with a somewhat larger image: 25000 x 5000 pixels (125 MPixels). My systems has the same amount of RAM as yours.
This will be fixed in the next release.
Thanks for the detailed feedback!

Gosh thanks! Are you accepting donations at this time? Your software has definite value to me, and I would like to make a donation as soon as you are set up to receive them.

Great program.

If you have nothing better to do, you could read linked image numbers from a description field and display them in a preview window, insted of just showing text.

But pending on how busy the servers are - I seem to have trouble to connect (got 25M down/1M uplink). I often get the error 'underlying connection was closed'. I've checked .Net - version is 1433. So that should be all ok. I'm running Windows on Parallels. It seemed to work reasonable; although uploading was 1 picture at a time, then the connection was lost. As a result also often the model releases seem to go missing.

I've just run the latest Windows updates - now nothing seems to work any more... Thoughts? Or just wait for the Mac version?

Running on Mac Parallels should not be a problem. I'm not sure what you mean with "nothing works anymore": are you now having general problems with windows programs under Parallels, or does DeepMeta no longer start up, or are the uploads not working anymore? Let me know.

Regarding the "underlying connection was lost" error. I hope to have a new test version by the end of the weekend, with different networking code, that I will send to users who have been experiencing this problem. Stay tuned wink

Franky - any news on above? Looking forward to the new version...

That's already implemented and will appear in DeepMeta version 1.1 (however not yet in the Mac version, unfortunately).

Sorry if this is already on your internal wish list...
When you load an image into DM a message says the image pixel size and the istock size category. Once it's been loaded, can that information be seen again later? In particular, I'd like to be able to see it on the General tab of the Details window. I upload a reasonable number of stitched panoramas and always try to include a note to the inspector that it is stitched rather than upsampled. But because I'm a bear of little brain I can't always remember which are the stitched images. An indication of the image size would save me from myself!

Edit to add: I now see that it is, in fact, on the public wish list - suggested by Lucato of course . So consider this merely a request for that information to be visible on the Details/General tab.

This is the best third party app for dealing with a large portfolio. This imported all of the portfolio details in a quick manner and I've loved uploading with it.

Deep meta is excellent! A+

The only addition I would suggest is the addition of a column for Private Lightboxes if this is available from iStock.

Everything else is awesome. Interface, useability and performance is a much much better alternative to imageManager...

Thanks. Regarding the Private lightboxes: you sort of guessed it: this data is not currently available from the iStock API. Maybe some day

Hi Franky,

I keep getting the 4200 error. Been trying to upload two new files via deepmeta since yesterday, but I keep getting the error message.

I've seen that I'm not the only one with this problem. Is there any new info on this?

Thanks a lot for your outstanding work!

Felix

Felix, I've seen this error on a few occasions lately. I'll send you the link to a test version later today. This should either fix it or at least give more info. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for reporting.

Hey Franky, what's up?

Doubt:
I'm wondering why after fetching (F5) and sorting by "Donloaded" in DM and "Last Download" in IS the thumbnails/images are sorted in different order?

New Suggestion:
In the Image tab, when we RMB over one image, in the contextual menu we would have the option "View Ratings & Commentings", so when I pick it, it would only show all ratings and comments from this image in the tab Ratings and comments.

Hey - I've just started using DM over the last few days and I'm impressed!

My one observation so far is this: when DM is used to create 'similar images' links (to display thumbnails in the description box) the images appear immediately under the description text without any line break; this is different to the example shown on the DM web site which shows a nice line of text saying something like 'related images'.  It would be great to have that 'related images' text inserted automatically, or at the very least a couple of line breaks between the description text and the subsequent thumbnail links.

Like others here, I'm happy to make a donation or buy a licence.  Very useful software.

I seem to have a new issue cropping up with MR's. Of the last 5 uploads I've done 3 have come back from inspection with a message "needs model release". I know that I checked the box. Is that a known bug of some sort?
