When I copy and paste several lines out to a text document, any newlines in the description are translated into a br tag instead of keeping something non-html, like a n or whatever.

That may be because of a particular standard programming element that Franky is using. Exactly where are you copying from?

Also, if you paste into a Word document you will find it easy to find-and-replace the offending text character.

Of course I can find and replace it. I just thought it was odd and it threw off something I was working on.

I had to pick something. I can't use a regular line break because that's the record delimiter in a CSV file.
Any line breaks in descriptions have to be encoded into something else. I'm open to suggestions for alternatives.

Maybe someone has already asked the question:

When you have a photo rejected, but that can resubmit there a way to use deepemta instead of go to the web page to resubmit this file?
I wanted to "Replace the original" deppmeta here but does not work when the file is passed in commission ...
thank you

Resubmit through DeepMeta is not possible.
It's a popular question, but unfortunately, the iStock API (the iStocj servers that DeepMeta uses to communicate to the site) does not support this.
Perhaps some time in the future, let's hope.

Thank you very much for that answer. DeepMeta make already many things, it is already very good. It is not embarrassing to go to the web page to resubmit
thank you

OK, thanks for all the reports and research!

I have reported the following 2 issues to iStock:

1. Download counts and royalties of credit card downloads do not show up in the API data (and hence not in DeepMeta).

2. Updates of Image info to the API only show up on the iStock site image page when sending the update twice in a row. When only sending the update once, the API does seem to register the update (a fetch back shows correct data), but doesn't seem to trigger a site page update.

Just a quick update that iStock are still looking into this and I've not received any news that these issues are fixed. Hopefully soon.

Franky, I'm still hunting an answer to why views appear to have tanked by 98%.

The last post from HQ mentions 'delays' in updating views, not an almost-cessation of views. Any ideas?

ETA: For example, this morning I have 20 (at most) new views. That is, views that cannot be explained as new acceptances, new rejections or recent purchases. In the normal way, if I had less than 200 views overnight I would think there was something seriously wrong.

Views are non-existent on my account. But I am assuming that is an IS issues rather than DM. Hopefully this info is being tallied somewhere. Downloads creep on but are below average. I have tried a couple of times to do an update stats call on DM but it seems to take forever and only partly successful. Again, I assume it is IS site issues.... overall though DM seems to be standing firm during this IS crisis....

I've encountered an error message while attempting to upload editorial images shot in South Korea. The message gives me a country name error. Loading the images directly onto istock (took a while to figure out how to do it again smile )and choosing the country from their drop down the option for South Korea reads "Korea, Republic of"

It could be that some country names were changed at the site. This would explain what you see.
I'll look into it. Thanks for reporting!

I have a question:

When I enter the keyword "Photography (Image)" into the keyword prompt, Deepmeta then displays two keywords: "image" and "photography". The second one which has to be disambiguated.

I would like to lose less time disambiguating and would like to enter the keywords as precisely as possible, so that i dont have to disambiguate.

Is there a way to deal with this?

Thanks for any response.

Just enter photography and click the box for (Image). I'm pretty sure there's no easier (or more precise) way.

When I enter "Photography" into DM, I get two unchecked choices:
Photography (Image)
Photography Themes

Once one of those is checked, there is no further work to do.

I want to speed up my keywording time and would like to enter the keywords as precisely as possible so that i can avoid the disambiguation afterwards

if i enter 40 keywords and have to disambiguate 10 of them, that sums up when uploading over 100 images a month

Make a template image with basic keywords and copy/paste that to the others to start.

Does DM embed the Title, Description and Keywords into the jpg files?

I'm pretty sure DM doesn't touch your jpg files. It uploads them the same as you present them.
