i installed it just yesterday, haven't tried it much but looks great! back to management thanks!

Hmmm... Still the same. If Im use the "refresh all date", this message comes up:


Error: Status: Protcolerror,error, the remote server returned a error: (503) server unavailabale.


Have tryed to remove and install again without luck. I really like the program (thank you!!), and havent got trouble before.

v1.0B3. For iStock Rejected images, I see no status for Can Resubmit/No Resubmit. It is not obvious if there is a method in DeepMeta to do a resubmit.

Hi Stan, I could add a column with the "Can resubmit" flag.

There is no way to actually do a resubmit in DeepMeta, because iStock's API does not support it.

Hey Franky, thanks for the new version. Great additions as always. Nice work.

Here are some new suggestions:

1) I don't know if it is possible and if you think it would be useful, but I think it would be cool if DM would have a colum with the name of the file. So, when I add an image, it would keep the file name e.g.: "xmas.jpg". Maybe it would be useful for future searches in the DVDs backp-ups;

2) It would be interesting if when I'm in keywords tab I would select some bold keywords and RMB to copy them and later get to paste/add/increase in other image from a row or into the destination keyword tab;

3) I'm not sure if it was requested before, but in the paste window pop-up, we would have a checkbox to select if we want to add the copied keywords or replace all them;

4) In the Statistics tab into the "Statistics grouped by file Status", maybe we would have two new dropdown lists "Month" and "Year", so I would pick for example "Royalty", "December" and "2007" and get thegrouped statistics only for December 2007 and the graphic on the right would show me the whole year selected with totals of each month of this year.

As Lucato suggested in Item 4 above, to be able to select Month & Year would be a great idea.
Would it be possible to select 1 image and see the statistics for that image over the year as above?

5) While uploading the "Available Upload Slots" would refresh every uploaded image and it would also show the difference from free slots to total, in sum, the number of "uploaded images".

v1.0b3. When selecting images to make links, it seems only the first image is shown on the right larger image panel. It would be useful instead to make the shown image the last one clicked. On my high resolution screen it is very difficult to decide from the left thumbnail column if I actually got the images I want.

Clicking an image to add to the selection needs to be click-on / click-off. If I have clicked the wrong image I need to remove it from the set with another click.

I use a lot the downloads a month column in the file details view at the site to evaluate file success. It would be nice to have such a column.

I would be also useful a tool to link to a lightbox, with option to include banners. 

And last, I know is not up to you but an option to upload vectors would be great.

v1.0b3. I've just done some Copy/Paste of categories (only) on exisitng images. Trying to do some house cleaning. I find if the image already has some categories then the paste adds more. It would be nice to have an option (or check box) to delete exisitng before pasting from the copy. This would save a lot of second operations of still having to open files to remove categories no longer wanted. I suspect this applies to the other choices in the paste as well. I was using the multiple image paste and otherwise I like the idea!

v1.0b3. I was working with about 60 images doing copy/paste/cleanup of categories. After about an hour of work the DeepMeta program crashed (completely vanished from the screen) and left a text box that said Out Of Memory. It didn't specify what memory had had been exhausted. Fortunately on startup all of the data seemed to be in shape as edited (at least I hope).

I got one Out of Memory message too on a 4GB machine. Just restarted and all seems ok. Unfortunately, I can't remember and inform what was I doing when I got this message.

Another suggestion. When selecting the rows by holding Ctrl or Shift, DM should also allow to unselect them when clicking again on a row that was already selected. So, lets suppose I hold shift and select a range. I'd like to hold Ctrl and unselect some unwanted rows/images.  

When you add new images through DeepMeta, the original filename + path is saved in the local database. It's just not shown yet. Of course, for all other (older) images fetched from iStock, this information is not present. You are right that it would be useful to make this data available in the program.


I see: a partial Copy & Paste. Would be nice, although I'd have to look into a mechanism to select multiple such keyword panels.

Yes, some option like that would be nice, or a table that lists values per month. I'll think about the best way to integrate it. More Statistics suggestions are always welcome.


Yes, it used to refresh after every successful upload, but in this version it no longer does. Software can be funny that way I'll fix this. And yes of course I could also show the number of used slots as well, so that you don't have to calculate it yourself.


I'm not sure what you mean here, Lucato. Or wait: something like: there are 30 files in the DeepMeta upload queue, of which X have been handled, and Y had errors? Of course the queue is dynamic: you can add/remove files all the time, so it's hard to put numbers on them. Now I think of it: I probably don't understand what you mean

Unfortunately that data is not available through the iStock API, although it can be consulted on the iStock site itself. A pity, I agree.

That would not be difficult to do: it was kind of a random choice to pick the first one.


Yes, that bothers me too. It's the way that the list-tool that I'm using is implemented. I can request such a change to the maker of that tool, or maybe see if I can patch the code myself.

There are many columns available, but not all are shown by default. To add the DL/Month column: right-click a column and select "Insert/move column", and then select the "Downloads per month" option. All currently shown columns are marked with a check-mark sign.

I have a lot of ideas/plans for this sort of functionality, and am trying to make up my mind on the actual implementation.


Yes, let's hope iStock makes this possible in the API. I've been nagging to them to finally get the categories fixed, which they did. Now I'll leave them alone for a while before starting a new "nagging offensive"

That's bad. Thanks for reporting and for mentioning the circumstances. I think it has to do with lack of cleanup of used memory in my code ("memory leaks"). I will try to replicate the error by doing lots of edits in one session. I never use the software for a long time. I will certainly try to get to the bottom of this as top priority. Bugs always are.

/Cool. Maybe instead of a column as I've mentioned before, this info would be placed in the status bar. In my case the path infoisn't important, just the file name, once my workflow is always send the images to a "ToUpload" folder and after uploaded I move them out. Well, you know what,howand where it is best to place in.

You got it. 30 files in the upload queue, where X were handled, with Y errors. I didn't get why it would be hard, once if you add you increase the value, if you remove you decrease the value.If the queue is empty it will start from 0. If I got error itwill be increased inthe Y values. I see, maybe it can be hard in the programming an we needd to think if it will be really necessary.
