Yup, I agree. I think it isn't in the wishlist, but I have suggested something similar in this post and here.




For a while you/people can use the Google Adwords Tool to help with keywords or The Taginator from Sethinacan.

I cleared my local database and redownloaded everything from IS. Double checking the images that I've already worked on, I noticed that for a few files, when you look at the catagories, everything is properly clicked, but one of the Main Categories is highlighted in yellow. It's not checked (Not supposed to) there is just a yellow box behind the main category....didnt know what that means?

Ok, Work for about half hour and then upload 20ish images, did another 20 uploaded, worked on 3 and then got the out of memory and crash....just letting you know

Yes, I do plan extra support for entering keywords and coming up with new ones. I haven't decided how exactly it will work though.


Like Lucato answered before me, he has suggested this same idea. I like it, and it's certainly on my (internal) wishlist. Sorry I haven't updated the public list recently.

Yes, like I mentioned before, I'm beginning to think this is related with running the program on a Mac, under Parallel desktop. It would be great if others that get this "out of memory" error would report the environment they're running DeepMeta in.
I read a few articles about Parallels that it doesn't always properly re-claim the memory it grants to programs. This means that memory gets fuller the longer you use the software. For now, I can only suggest Parallels users to exit and restart DeepMeta from time to time when doing extensive edits.

The good news is that the Mac version is progressing, so at some point in time, you won't have to use Parallels anymore to use DeepMeta.

How much trouble would it be to parse all the image descriptions looking for image links and to flag all those that link to images that are no longer active? I'm guessing that DM does most of the parsing work already to avoid making multiple links to the same image from one description.

Having a warning that a link points to an inactive image would be particularly useful when active images move to the dollar bin and eventually automatically go inactive.

You're correct, that would not be very hard to do. Similarly, DeepMeta could also verify whether any links to external images (such as for lighbox graphics) are still working.

 It will be nice to have some copy-paste option for keywords if we work with similar images.

There is option in IM "copy from image".

A request for a change to the filter on the main Images tab.

I believe the filter looks at the keywords on the images.  Would it be a lot of trouble to have the option to filter on the keywords and/or the titles and/or the descriptions?

This evening I thought of a couple of keywords I'd like to add to a bunch of my images that I could easily identify by words in their titles.  Being able to filter on the title would've made it a little easier.

 In the main Images tab you can copy from an image by right clicking and selecting copy.  You can then select one or more other images, right click and paste.  That gives you the option to copy keywords or other details.

DeepMeta was working fine a couple of days ago but today when I try to upload a file it goes through several tries and then I get the following message:

 "Upload error: Empty replied received from iStockphoto"


 Is anyone else having this problem? Is there something up with IS that its not accepting files through DM at the moment?

 

I've checked and you are right. This has to do with the fairly literal match I'm doing at the moment. Hope to make it smarter in the future. Thanks for reporting.

The filter is only looking at keywords at the moment. I'm planning an "advanced" sort of filter dialog, allowing more options. This is somewhere on my "internal" wishlist Thanks.

I think everyone is affected at the moment. This has most likely to do with the system update that iStock performed yesterday. See
this thread and this one.

I'll try to contact iStock to get this fixed ASAP, and will keep you posted. Thanks for reporting.

FYI Re: category suggestions, I have noticed that "equipment" defaults to the Science and Medical section although there are other sections that contain other types of equipment.

 Why is it not possible to delete images from the "new images not in queue" list?  This feature would be great!
