Would it be possible to allow Right-Click > Fetch on inactive files. If, for example, a file is rejected and I resubmit it, I'd like to be able to Right-Click on that specific file to update its status. As is, I have to do a full Fetch to get the update for that one file.

Unfortunately I don't believe that's possible. The API doesn't provide any information to associate a resubmitted file with the original rejected file. Nor, indeed, any information to say whether or not the original rejected file was actually resubmitted.

What extra information does a full fetch give you about the rejected file that a stats fetch doesn't give you?

Hi all!

Sorry if this question has been brought up before, tried to search the forums without any luck.

Well, I am new to iStock and uploaded my first images with releases. Unfortunately some releases didn't have enouch shoot descriptions. So I got new releases, deleted the old ones in DM, attached the new ones and updated to iStock...

What now? How do I get the images to the inspection queue again or will that happen automatically once I update the file?

Also, I have one Image where I cant get a new release, can I remove that unapproved Image somehow? I read that I should attach a note to the reviewer with "please reject" but I cant find anywhere on the image webpage where I could attach such note...

Thanks som uch for helping me out!!!

The info I'm hoping to gather is that the file, with a single file number, is no longer rejected and should be visible under active files. The only way for me to do this now on a once-rejected, resubmitted file -- since I can't fetch for that one file (Fetch is a disabled Right-Click option) -- is to do a complete Fetch on all the files. If I could do a Fetch on an individual inactive file I could update its status quickly and easily. Instead of taking ten minutes doing it as I have to do now. If re-enabled, and if there's nothing to Fetch, just be build in or account for the error and manage it with user message or whatever, but if there IS something to Fetch, like the file's resurrected status, I'd love to be able to do it on a file-to-file basis. It's enabled if I do a full Fetch, obviously since the file updates, but I just want to do it on the file itself, under the inactive list. It should be possible since it is possible on a group Fetch.

Hopefully that's more clear now.

You want to be able to right-click + "Fetch from iStock" for files that have status = "Rejected". Is that it?
And the reason you want this is because sometimes rejections are overturned by Scout.

Let me know if this is it. It would not be hard to implement.
Thanks.

Once you have uploaded the file, changing the model releases and updating the file to iStock will not update the model releases. I know this is not very logical, but is mostly due to how DeepMeta communicates with the iStock servers.

What you can do is right-click the file in the list and select "Send model release - consent doc to iStock". That will properly update the model release to the site.

Regarding your second question: there is no special field for "notes to inspector". Most contributors write such info for inspectors at a prominent spot in the Description field. But you should be able to simply cancel the upload in the My uploads page here at the site (if not too late).

Don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions.

Yes, overturned by Scout, or sometimes resubmitted.

That would be awesome. Thanks.

I'm reading in the forums where the order of the keywords makes a difference when files are first uploaded.  That the most relevant keywords must be listed first for new files to be viewed as similars, etc.

When I put keywords into deepmeta in the order I want, it changes them into another order.

Is this important for new files and if so, how can I keep the order of importance I want to remain as I have listed them.

You have no control over keyword order. It is automated based on views.

Great to know.   so in DeepMeta, what do the 'sort by status" and optomize buttons do?  Sort by name is obvious but I don't see what the other buttons are doing.

"optimize" highlights KWs you have that are duplicated or have not disambiguated by checking one of the available boxes associated with that KW. "sort by status" seems to alphabetize the list. I wonder if back in the day, KW order was important and it's just never been removed?

I do know for sure that KW order is now sorted as Roger describes - based on relevance (and I don't know if it is only based on views or also purchases).

OK, thanks.  That's what I thought, purchases determined the order.  My question was about new files, if they come onto iStock with an order that has 'image', 'horizontal',  etc, as first keywords, does that hurt the file's placement if someone sorts for similars?

Any idea what's the meaning of ERROR: 4301 - The date provided is either not in the proper format (yyy-mm-dd) or is invalid.

I am trying to submit editorial images. Date in the Caption looks correct....

Thanks.

I'm afraid no one here will be able to answer that question. I do intend to add more control over the order in which DeepMeta sends keywords to the site, because it's been requested a lot.

Could it be you have specified today or a date in the future in the editorial date drop-down boxes in DeepMeta?
(it's not the caption text I'm referring to).

I believe that even if you add the current day, and your timezone is ahead of the timezone of iStock (MST), it will report this error. In fact the error sent by the iStock server is not correct: it's not the format of the date, but the date itself it doesn't like.

Let me know if that might be it.

I had an image I forgot to add the MR to.  I has "needs model release" in the status bar.  I uploaded the MR through DM by right click and selecting the upload MR, etc.  On iStock it still shows 'needs model release".  Will that eventually go away, how do I know that it went through?

That's strange. I would expect the iStock page to update as well. Can you give me the image ID?

Thanks

I had the same problem few weeks ago, so I thought that you just can't upload release through DM when it says "needs release".
So, I just uploaded it through iStock.

Good to know that it should work through DM
