Just reporting...

I've installed Framework 3.0 and didn't change anything in my computer.

The other computer I did the Full Fetch. Let's wait some image get approved to use the Quick Fetch.

See you later.

1.0A11 has issues with thumbnail image in the Images tab, Details view. The little thumb at the left of the screen is not the image related to the Name shown. If I single click (Windows) on the image the preview pane at the right is correct. If I doubleclick to reach the edit screen, the image shown top left is the incorrect one. I roughly guess a third of my images are affected.

I had a previous version installed. Overwrote with 1.0A11. Did a new full fetch (overwrote previous). Then noted the problem.

@fowlefoto
I cannot reproduce this: whenever I upload, the files disappear from the Queue list. I'll see if more people report their upload experience

@StanRohrer
This is a sporadic problem, already reported for one of the earlier alpha versions. I have since added some debug code to find out more. I you could, Stan, please go to the main menu, select "Help", then "About", and click on the "Send debug info" button at the bottom left of the dialog. This should help me further investigate. Please also report the file nr that shows the wrong thumbnail, and if you can find out, the file nr of the wrong tumbnail shown. Thanks!

@lucato
Don't worry about framework versions. Only version 2 is required, and the installation program will detect and install as needed.
Regarding Quick fetch. I recently had similar experiences, where ratings listed at the iStock site 3 days ago still didn't show up in DeepMeta after a Quick fetch. Just did a Quick fetch again, and now finally saw the updates coming in.
My take is that some iStock servers currently have a replication delay of multiple days, and the one hosting the API seems one of them. I would expect that Quick fetch shows you the latest updates, but with a number of days delay. Once the iStock server problems are all fixed, I expect the delay to disappear, as it used to be a few weeks ago.

OK So now this is wierd.

I just restarted the application, And the photos that I uploaded last (when everything appeared to work correctly) are now listed in the que as ready to upload. The previous four photos are still listed as new but not in que.

All of these photos show up online and appear to have been uploaded correctly.

A Full Fetch did not change any thing.

Great app by the way. I love the keywording!

It occured again. Debug data sent. This happened on reviewing a just completeda Full Fetch (overwriting existing) from iStockphoto. Perhaps that is the key.

You need to have a way to include comments in the debug data. Many images are confused as related to the image titles. Here are a few (with good match first/bad match second): 3665166/3665142, 3202937/320925, 3101330/3101311, 3097878/3097874.

Hey Franky, thanks for the info you've posted above. I'll wait more 3 days. But I think it isn't iStock problem once I get to update my IMPro. Well, actually I don't know if it uses the API stuff.

Upload experience report:
Franky, I think you need to review the Upload Queue when sending images to iStock. The upload queue in DM11 isn't working right. Again I got a trouble when uploading. After I send 10 images and the last one left the Upload Queue list (the "Upload Queue" got empty), the connection keept transmitting the image data and nor all 10 images were really uploaded. DM missed 3 of 10. So, 3 images weren't sent. I think that the right way it should work is: The thumb image should just leave the "Upload Queue list" when the image is completely uploaded into iStock and it isn't happening. It leaves the list before gets fully uploaded. Another stuff is that after the 10 images get sent, the status in details keeps as "ReadyForUpload" instead of get changed to "Pending". This status should change to pending as soon each image leaves the Upload Queue list. As the status didn't change, I have all images that I have already sent back into my "Upload Queue".

About Keywords:
a) In the keywords, DM would show in another color the tags that doens't belong to the CV as it shows in iStock;
b) Some tags doesn't show the sub tags like the tag "Skate" that has the term "Skate (Ray)" and into it has two sub-terms that doesn't show into DM;

All right, thanks for all the hard work so far, fellow testers
I will have a new version ready later today, that should fix all the upload problems, and lucato, it might also fix the "Quick fetch" problem you have.

More later! ...

So far I was not able to upload a single file through DeepMeta. I hope the update solves that problem.

After all these things work I would have some things on my wishlist.

1. Being able to use keyword searching within the image list.

2. Creating Image crosslinks.

3. Copying keyword from one image to another.

4. Copying Categories from one image to another.

5. Adding Tags in a way "Tagger" does.

Version 1.0 Alpha 12 is now available for download.

Thanks for all the great feedback!
Sorry if I haven't replied to each and every individual remark/request/suggestion yet, but I do take note of every single item (wow .. I'm beginning to sound just like iStock here ).

To all those where Uploads just didn't seem to work: I hope this release will fix things for you. It was a timing related issue (the duration of 60 seconds might seem familiar?), along with this timeout not being reported as an error.

Any files that you already uploaded, but were still marked as "Ready for upload" or similar in DeepMeta: you can delete them from the local database by right-clicking the file in the Image list and selecting "Delete".

Lucato, maybe your Quick fetch problem also had something to do with this?

StanRohrer, thanks for the debug report and detailed file numbers. I think the detail of a Full Fetch having taken place right before may be the key to a fix. But I have yet to look further into this.

Have fun with the new version!

/The new version is the first version for me in which uploading actually works. Allthough I have only tried one file so far. Thanks!

Edit: And the quick fetch also works now...

Hi Franky, good morning. Now I got use the Quick Fetch in DM12, but I got some issues:

V12 Reporting:
a) While using Quick Fetch I got an Error twice and after the pop-up it closes DM. The message was: "ERROR: Object reference not set instance of an object"
b) I got some images that DA is manual into iStock, but DM shows as Auto.
c) The Quick updated some inactive image, I have no idea why. I mean, at least it was shown in the quick list.

V14 Reporting:
a) I didn't get to use V14, it ins't getting to read the database and while trying to read the data, it makes my computer slow when using other windows. Just to have an idea, now while writting here, the DM14 is 35 minutes opened trying to read the data "Loading image data..." and typing in this forum is very slow. DM is stucked. I have reestarded the computer and turned off more than twice and the same happen. I'm not getting to use the v14. I'll try to download again from DeepMeta and install over. I'll post later the results.

Other computer report:
a) Franky just to inform you I did the test in another computer with BM10 and I had the same problem with Quick Fetch. Now you've fixed it in DM12, but I didn't get to test in the other computer once I had jumped to DM14.
b) I've tested DM14 in other computer and I got the same issue about getting stucked trying to read the database.

I'm not sure if it got stucked due som API connection with iStock. Maybe DM should allow to open up all database without needing to connect with iStock and we connect it when we want to.

Cheers,
Lucato

Thanks Lucato! The new Alpha 15 should fix the slowness of Alpha 14, at least, as far as I could test with my smaller portfolio.

Upload report:

1 Upon upload, the default, allow for extended license and allow print were not checked even though checked in the upload process. Not sure if you have accounted for those yet or not.

2 Also, the app did not record the upload date and time of the images I uploaded through it so trying to sort it places it in the wrong position.

Hey Franky, thanks for adding the full row selection in details & ratings tabs. Much better. wink

V.15 Report:

a) My database read time: 7 minutes and 30 seconds. (Still high wait time for large portfolio). On the other computer test, it took more time due the computer be weaker than the 1st one. The other computer took 12 minutes and 20 seconds to ready all database.
b) When resizing the columns into Image tab, changing to another tab an going back to image tab, it looses the defined size and goes back to the default sizes. DM would keep the adjusted sizes while changing tabs or even closing and opening DM.
c) In the image tab, the Right Mouse Click would have the option "Download image data". So, if we have made some change in this image that we don't want to upload we would retreive the data or if we just want to update the image status/data. In this same contextual menu we would have the option "Add to upload queue".
d) After the Quick Fetch I still got 5 images informing in the DA column (image tab) that they are AUTO, but they are MANUAL into iStock.
e) DM needs to avoid adding new image that aren't jpg. I mean, I tried TIF and it accepted.
f) Some of my images into iStock are setted to allow print, but into DM the check box Allow print isn't checked.
g) Does DM have the check box Extended licence?
h) FILE/EXIT isn't workig here. It isn't closing DM.
i) Upload I'll try on the end of this week. I need to take more shots. smile

Well that's all for a while.

See ya later.

Using version 15;

Just added a new image but the thumbnail is not correct. It is the same as another in my portfolio. The bigger picture of it is correct though.

All went well with the upload this version. Thanks!!
