I am just curious how did you find this site? Years ago I saw an advert banner promoting photos just for 1USD on versiontracker.com site and that was my catch...

One of our membes wrote a book about "Hoe to make money with digital pictures", i found a review in a newsletter about photography, ordered it the very day at amazon, read it, and here i am.


The book is in German, the member is clu, the book was very helpful

I found it back in '04, I thought it was a personal photo storage site like Photobucket.  But I completely forgot about it.

Then in '06, a friend of mine told me about a someone he knows that makes around $800 a month on this site.

 I came to sign up, only to find out that I already had a username from my first visit.  Surprisingly, the 3 images I uploaded didn't get accepted. LoL

I was thinking of starting a business 'retouching' photos and was in need of some that required retouching. I found a double page ad in Photoshop User that said images could be had for $0.50. When I got here I was hard pressed to find something to retouch and then noticed you could upload. So, on a lark, I did...the rest is history

I heard about it from another Art Director I worked with just over 2 years ago. I finally got the guts to start contributing vectors July of last year.

There was an article in Popular Photography magazine about stock photography. It gave some other sites also, but I'm glad I chose istock. Here's the article online

I saw it cussed and discussed on a Flickr Central thread about a year ago.  I didn't think much more of it because I figured that there was no money in it for folks who weren't superstar full-time photographers, so decided not to sign up.  A year later, I spotted another thread on Flickr in the Strobist group, and thought "what the heck - can't hurt to try it"  so I did.
 
I have been pleased with my results so far.
