Newbie Race to half Bronze - join here - Week 28 Stats - .Jonny and Fernando makes half bronze

Hi All

I would like to start a race for the new folks around here to encourage a bit of friendly competition. The aim is to get to 125 downloads, and increase your portfolio.

I propose that the rules should be that you currently should have less than 40 uploads, and less than 15 downloads. I also think that you should have been a member of IStockphoto for less than 6 months (so it is a newbie competition). ETA First Upload a max a 6 months old.

If anyone would like to join then please site mail me or reply.

Thank you for your interest but you are a little outside the criteria. However what I will do is add you to the Compare application. You can be the inspiration for us newbies.  I hope that is cool with you.

Can I be another honourary member? Someone has to push Shank along. Maybe it can be a two tiered race. Very newbies and veteran newbies (I only got accepted in December!).

I'd really love to play.... I meet the criteria on uploads and downloads, but my first file was uploaded in June of 07, but my first download wasn't until 10/07.  Any chance of bending the 6-month rule? Please?

As for techniques, I try to get the picture as perfect as possible when I shoot it. I know alot of people edit on this website which is very understandable considering this is stock photography. I know how to use photoshop but personally i rather not use it for my photos. This may not be for everyone, but I get more gratification from taking the perfect picture and not needing to edit it. Lighting has proven to be the most important factor of a picture. If the lighting is not good it can lead to artifacting and degrade the picture as a whole.

I have worked for a wedding photographer for over a year now, and she has taught me to shoot the perfect picture instead of fixing your picture to be perfect. I know alot of people will dissagree with this but this is how I like to approach my photography.
