Posted Mon Dec 10, 2012 12:01AM | Can anyone tell me if the RC targets have been announced? I've not been paying attention, but I passed 12,500 last month and hope that means I'm retaining silver level royalties for next year. |

They were 11500 for next year so yes you have made it easily. |

I was having some kind of in brain experience where I was worried they would see how she would react and label her a "dangerous animal" and try to euthanaise her or something, but that's just cats. They assured me that there are many other cats who freak at the vet. They don't do that stuff unless you provoke it from them. Lulu is just a bit less tolerant of strangers sticking their hands in her immediate surroundings. Even a pat has to be earned from this cat (from strangers that is).
If you see her at the vet though, she is just stressed and only defending herself, she repeatedly tries to get away and tried to go back into the cat carrier but I'd shut the door! She's fine as long as your not approaching. Poor baby.
A lot of this would be me accidently reinforcing the behaviour when I would try to cut her claws and she would put the ears down and that was enough to scare me off doing it. So a lot of me threatening to cut claws with no actual cutting because I didn't want to get shredded. And of course that one time where I won her trust back and accidently cut the quick on the dew claw (oops). Anyway, I did the claws in the cat bag last week, it has a little face mask/muzzle thing (a soft black cloth one) so she can still breathe but not bite and she can't see through it. She tolerated the front paws last week with the usual growling and threats but didn't pull her feet away once! So she's getting used to it being the new routine. No more bullshit, cat goes in bag, claws get trimmed, tick and flea treatment goes on. Even getting her in the cat bag was easy last week.

Posted Mon Dec 10, 2012 12:23AM | Cat bag is the height of sophistication I used to wrap a cat up in a woolly jumper to give tablets/treat wounds/cut claws - and the back-of-the neck hold works to keep them still - easier when someone else (who you trust not to let go!) does it. I worked at a vet's at weekends when I was 14 and had to do the nasty stuff. The danger point with a cat is the instant you let go the back-of-the-neck hold - teeth and claws! It's easy to cut the quick on a claw, especially with animals that have dark claws - I've done it once and felt so guilty - vets do it often! |
  Posted Mon Dec 10, 2012 12:40AM | Tnank you. That's god news...and a huge relief! |
Posted Mon Dec 10, 2012 2:07AM | Don't worry Shannon, cats are like that at vets. If a cat isn't, then worry. We never cut our cats claws but our cats would be outside and inside cats. I do remember all the time I spent scratching a post to try and show my last kitten what to do |

^ lol I got John to pee on a bush in the garden to demonstrate to Betel that's what the last outing of the evening was for Both dogs found this very entertaining.
EL on this one, from the lab shoot.

Posted Mon Dec 10, 2012 5:41AM | Nice Jean, don't know when I last had an EL. Got another Masai Agency though.
This is one of my recent cat aquaintances, a beauty but don't think I want to cuddle it. Searched gepard and there are many. Unfortunately no 2 and three in a BM search are leopards, and they are keyworded with both leopard and cheeta (gepard).
Que is increadibly fast I have hardly time to finish uploading before the images are accepted,

Just had 2 Olympic files deactivated {editorials} due to logos apparently.
My son has just applied to become a contributor and I helped him with his application. The 3 files he sent in were from South East Asia and I would happily have seen them in my portfolio - I tried to make sure they were diverse- a candid of some children, a paddy field with a worker on a dividing third and a reflection landscape of Angkor Wat. Rejected for lack of diversity and not upto standard.
I must have got my application in just in time!!!!

^ I had my Olympic Flag Deactivated today. I sent copies of my credentials and application stating that I can sell for editorial only and they say nope. The double standard again
ETA: I just some more clarification on the deactivation of Olympic images
The IOC has specifically contacted iStockphoto and filed a formal request to cease licensing imagery of their logo, or their events.
This I can live with, I know how the IOC can be.

I also had two deactivated the other day. A vertical and a horizontal frame of the Olympic ski jumps in Lake Placid, NY. Neither had any logos or rings or anything else visible - after I edited one of them by cloning out the rings on a banner hanging at the bottom of the ramp. Well...nothing obvious/visible...other than it's obvious there aren't too many of these types of immense side by side single-purpose structures in use for high school ski teams or whomever.
Anyway, probably similar to yours, the notes on each deactivation said "...Due to contractual agreements with the International Olympic Committee, there are restrictions on Olympic themed content for all our collections and we regret we can not offer this file.../xxxxxxxx/...Do note that imagery featuring exterior views of previous Olympic venues and parks may be submitted in their unedited form to our Editorial collection provided the five ring logo, torches or mascots are not visible. Interior views of venues require consent..." (my bold/underlining).
All of which I believe means I can re-submit the one I didn't clone as editorial because I managed to cover the banner with the trees in camera on that one. I'm going to give it a shot because while the cloned one never sold, this one did a couple of times... We'll see. |

^ I really can't complain too much, my flag reached flames status and made me over $400 in a year.
Did you hear that? I thought I hear taps playing........

And now a buyer has to buy it from IOC dirctly and it will probably cost $400 per sale ... or they can just buy it from another site which I'm sure wont be shutting down their Olympic imagery. |
